Except for the fact...
That last time we saw him he was already up
That he used good portion of his flames/stamina to slow down the Ice Oni
That he handled King and Queen together for who knows how much time
Nah he ain't been defeated for good, let alone low diffed
He said himself he will leave the rest of the fighting to others, just face it man...Just another L for his huge collection.

First letting his captain and his captain chosen successor die in marineford, then losing all of his captain's territory to BB, then hiding away in some remote island.

Thankfull the government decided to abolish the shichibukai, else i bet Weevil would have wiped the floor with him.
:lusalty:
I like Marco, but he is not all that strong, probably still better than trashkuri though.

The Ls you mentioned are not Ls.
You bring MF war in like he was the cause of the defeat, the opposing force was just to strong. He did his best to keep Luffy alive, carrying Ace's will.
He lost in a battle against the Blackbeard Pirates, going by logic he probably fought Blackbeard (Yami Yami + Gura Gura), can you blame him for that?
He's not hiding at all, he's protecting Newgate's homeland (carrying a part of his will). If he really was as scared as you depicted him to be he wouldn't have shown his ass in Onigashima and wouldn't have performed this well.

Leaving the fight to Zoro and Sanji is only logical, check chapter 999:

And both Zoro and Sanji are part of the New Generation, with the former being a leader too. So that's perfectly in line with the narrative, unless you really expected Marco to beat both King and Queen...

He has easily been the Live Floor MVP on the Alliance side.

I concur with the general feeling here. Marco was seemingly putting a lot of effort into dealing with King. He also had claimed he would leave the final battle to the new generation but I thought that would not have necessarily meant every single opponent, rather the new gen to take on the yonko, yet turns out he really meant it literally.

Oda has Marco explicitly stating that it's hard to deal with two people above 1b only for Perospero to notice how exhausted he looks and readers still simplify it to King beating him. If anything, we should be mocking King for his inability to knock an exhausted Marco out.

It's like their reading skills stopped developing at five years old, for real.
