Does this statement still holds value or Oda Retconned it?




My Opinion :​
Oda didn't retcon it , by 5 Power he might have meant Zoan giving "Wings"
  1. Tori Tori No mi : Mythical Model Phoenix
  2. Tori Tori No mi : Model Falcon
  3. Ryu Ryu no Mi, Model: Pteranodon
  4. Unknown Fruit : Mythical Model Itsumade
  5. Uma Uma no Mi : Mythical Model Peagasus
Oda completed the Set of 5 Powers which grants flight.
- Morgan with Albatross Fruit can't fly is canon.

Also other powers have Unconventional Method of Flying. I Think Oda only 5 power in terms of Zoan Giving them " Wings ".

  • Kaidou - Dragon don't fly they walk on flame clouds
  • Luffy don't fly , he uses Air Compression with G4.
  • Doflamingo doesn't fly he walks on thread.
  • Fujitora and Shiki don't fly. They abuse gravity and weightlessness.
  • A few Logia can Fly as Caeser , Kizaru , Monet.

It says 5 types not 5 devil fruits. Bird bird fruit is a type, the falcon is a specific fruit - is how I understood that.
Luffy can fly in G5 but he wouldn't count it due to "identified". G5 is like a secret but the worst kept one. Everyone knows about it but no one knows about the DF. G4 flying is just a way he learned to use his power + haki + maybe due to CP9, its not really specifically DF.

As i said the world could have spread the "rumor or knowledge" with the number 5. Even if this was a retcon since the npc said it we can count on it as a "character said this maybe thats what he knows".

Take Luffy's fruit for example. Think about it.

And also just like the titles themselves people in the op world thinks highly of them BUT are they true ? #Mihawk #Kaido

You missed one. There is no way Oda was not thinking of "flight" when he drew this shit, I mean it's literally a homage to Dragon Ball the series of his favorite late author Akira Toriyama. :zosmug:

Don't count "Variations" of same DF
And don't count DFs that don't grant Natural Flight
It's just their Users using them in a way that allows them to Levitate such as Shiki or Logia Users

DFs that grant Natural Flight shown so far are Four:

Bird Bird No Mi --- Such as DFs of Pell & Marco
Dragon Dragon No Mi Pterosaurs --- Only King's DF so far
Bug Bug No Mi (Not All) --- Only DFs of Kabu & Bian so far (Two Dwarves)
Bat Bat No Mi --- Such as Patrick Redfield's DF (Non-Canon) and Stussy might have it too

Even if you go check Online, Pterosaurs, Birds, Bats & Insects are only Creatures who have Natural Ability to Fly
Oda seems to have added a Fifth & it's currently Unknown, but could be Laffitte's DF

So Pell's Statement wasn't wrong
There are indeed only Five Creatures with Power to Fly
Whether They have other Qualities, that's just Variations of same DF
