Nice thread, and can be used for film recommendations, thanks @Pot Goblin !

I will probably get back with the 50 movies, but let me kick-off with those I have right off the top of my head (in no particular order):

- Ford vs Ferrari
- Knocking on the Heavens Door
- In Bruges
- The Gentlemen by Guy Ritchie
- LOTR trilogy
- Batman trilogy by Christopher Nolan
- Batman movies by Tim Burton
- Fifth Element
- Cactus (French movie about two friends going to India to save one of them, kind of)
- Welcome to Sticks (another great French movie)
- Matrix the very first movie
- Pulp Fiction
- Spider-Man into the Spiderverse
- Coco
- The Truman Show
- Deadpool
- The King's Speech
- Knives Out
- The Green Book
- The Intern (the one with Robert de Niro)
- Togo
- The Two Popes
- Big Hero Six
- Home Alone & Home Alone 2
- Parent's Trap

That's about 1/2, and damn it's hard to compile a rounded list, with different genres :) hope it'll help someone pick a movie for an evening!
Likin that list
The best thing about making these is to have something to reference on movie nights

Not my top 50. But Mad Max Fury Road and Top Gun Maverick are interesting to look at as great sequels probably even better than the prior works decades after their releases. The writing and directing is perfectly executed as you’re stuck to your seat and are entertained every minute throughout the screening.

It goes to say that you don’t need to be a genius to build great works like that. Just work hard and good enough on your movie. They didn’t reinvent movies, they just did great films like we don’t anymore.
