I don´t have 50 favorite films to be honest. I can get some films together that I have far more emotions for, whatever those emotions are (only positive of course) than other movies though. But within those, I would not distinguish either. Plus I will only mention one movie from the same director, maybe if I would mention several, I could get to more, maybe even 50.
So here we go:

Lord of the Rings Trilogy
The Great Beauty
Lady Vengeance
Parasite
Before Trilogy (Linklater)
Ghost in the Shell
Stalker
The secret in their eyes (original one)
Midnight in Paris
Hero
Favorite Ghibli movie (probably Only Yesterday, technically not directed by Miyazaki though, or Mononoke)
Kara no Kyoukai movie series
Force Majeure
Paprika
God Bless America
Favorite Aranofsky movie (probably between Fountain, Pi and Requiem)
2001: Space Odyssey
Taxi Driver
Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter... and Spring
Amelie
In the mood for love
Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy
Lost in Translation
Almost Famous
Inherent Vice
The Favourite
The Tree of Life

Excellent lists fellas
It's reminding me of a bunch more great films that I liked. Might need a top 100.

Especially with newer films like Bullet Train that can easily take a spot on my list
:shocking:

Thanks

I dig it
:shocking:

The 50 movie list is definitely a fun one cause it gets your brain thinking on all the movies you've ever watched
There is a good chance that you remembered an old gem or discovered something new along the way
Also it helps a lot on movie nights when you're finding something to watch.

I was def thinking that for sure would have been the same as well if you said post your 50 list movies on anime, but I have a feeling I would be there forever if that happened. Haha, my list is a lot longer when it comes to that.

It was hella hard especially with Denzel Wahington's movies I wanted to put in five at least but narrowed it down to two. :optimistic:

Nice thread, and can be used for film recommendations, thanks @Pot Goblin !

I will probably get back with the 50 movies, but let me kick-off with those I have right off the top of my head (in no particular order):

- Ford vs Ferrari
- Knocking on the Heavens Door
- In Bruges
- The Gentlemen by Guy Ritchie
- LOTR trilogy
- Batman trilogy by Christopher Nolan
- Batman movies by Tim Burton
- Fifth Element
- Cactus (French movie about two friends going to India to save one of them, kind of)
- Welcome to Sticks (another great French movie)
- Matrix the very first movie
- Pulp Fiction
- Spider-Man into the Spiderverse
- Coco
- The Truman Show
- Deadpool
- The King's Speech
- Knives Out
- The Green Book
- The Intern (the one with Robert de Niro)
- Togo
- The Two Popes
- Big Hero Six
- Home Alone & Home Alone 2
- Parent's Trap
- Secondhand Lions
- Onward
- Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
- Limitless
- Cruella
- The Karate Kid
- Chocolate (one of a few romantic movies I like)
- When Harry Met Sally (while we on romantic topic, lol)
- Wreck-it Ralph the first movie
- The Mask
- That Thing You Do!

That's about 1/2, and damn it's hard to compile a rounded list, with different genres :) hope it'll help someone pick a movie for an evening!
