Zoro was more than likely sparing against and learning from the WGS/WSS Mihawk. Like he cant get any better training than that. Swords and their quality make a difference. Sure one can be an excellent swordsman, but theres a reason there are tiers/grades for swords. So yes it is indeed a power up, however its been shown that you need be very proficient in haki to control Enma. Seems he's more than capable enough.
Enma has a ton more potential than Shusui though. Shusui been stuck the same for a very long time. Enma being black will put it up there with the very best in the world. I still believe Enma is a lot stronger than Shusui even without being blacked yet. The fact that it was able to give Kaido that nasty scar without being a black blade is ridiculous.
This isnt to take anything away from Zoro though. Only one other man has been able to wield it. So it speaks a lot that Zoro is that damn strong to control it, otherwise it only hinders him. Zoro is dat dude.

Enma being a power up or not is a technicality that has no weight either way so I don't understand this debate, it's futile. We know it's a tool that allows Zoro to get stronger through training. It was the key to his power growth in this arc, just like advanced CoA to Luffy or RS to Sanji. The rest is just fans nitpicking to either make Zoro look good or bad, really.
Agree with Enma have a lot potential than Shusui. Just like RPG game, Shusui already max stats while Enma can still be upgraded and surpassed Shusui.
But for now, Shusui clearly above Enma in quality. If Oden using Enma with Shusui when he slash Kaido, i bet there'll be a greater damage than just cross shaped scar.
