To be honest, I largely lost interest in Bleach sometime after the Arrancar saga, but I still like it overall. Am excited for the final arc anime adaptation.

He has the best character arc out of any Gotei 13 captain, though like Shunsui's growth from lazy party guy to determined leader quite a lot, as well.

Byukaya had an absolutely fabulous character arc ruined by Kubo shitting himself at fan girl rage and having him survive the first invasion. Would have been an absolutely perfect end for him. And been great for Ichigo, Rukia and Renji.
