A scene dedicated to the dark continent ?

#1
So we can see on Togashi’s twitter that a panel dedicated to a forest is being drawn.

However we know theres no forests within the Black Whale. Of course this could possibly be a forest on Whale Island…but would that mean Gon is finally gonna get panel time ? Or again it could be a forest within the Dark Continent. Either way it seems like were gonna get a scene were its off the Black Whale.

I think Gon is more likely to appear before Black Whale reaches Dark Continent
So imo that Scene shows Gon's Training, meaning we might also see Killua's Whereabouts

Which suggest we might see a New Sub-Plot back in original Continents
And there is only one Character who is related to Dark Continent, isn't on Black Whale & Togashi haven't explored yet
I believe there is a chance we might see Maha or Ziggs Zoldyck (They could be same Person & Togashi simply changed the Name)

I hope it's from the Dark Continent, would mean it's finally within reach after all these years
Dont forget that this ship is going to the New Continent…the fake Dark Continent. After this arc, they’ll probably be another arc before the true Dark Continent arc. Potentially Gon and Killua would get reintroduced in the New Continent arc, so they’ll be our MC’s for the Dark Continent arc,

True, can't imagine setting foot on the Dark Continent territory with Gon and Killua in the cast.

Need to do a re-read tho at some point, it's been a while need to be remembered of some shit I forgot lol.

I hope we get a timeskip as well. Gon trains for like 3 years to get his nen back. Whilst Killua gets to take a long vacation with his sister. Then they meet again in three years in the New Continent after Kakin has colonised it fully.

That would be terrible

Another arc where Gon and Killua are the MCs before Leorio even gets one?

What’s so wrong with them being kept out of the story while Leorio and Kurapika get a chance to shine? What about the consequences of Gon basically sacrificing himself to kill Pitou?

So he gets a full restore, gets his nen back, and becomes strong enough in time to head to the Dark Continent

Im sorry but Idgaf about Leorio being the MC. His time is now within the Succession Arc….and hes nowhere to be found. Hes just not interesting as a protagonist. Hes not a thinker like Killua and Kurapika, nor can he carry himself and keep up like Gon. Leorio is also just a weakling and he just isnt combat oriented like them. Heck hes never beaten anyone within this manga. And Ging does not count.

You literally read OP….where their are next to no consequences. You shouldnt even judge HxH. Gon losing all his potential and his Nen….then having to train like a fodder and take farrrrr longer than he did before, is a good enough consequence.

He’s just not interesting as a protagonist because... he hasn’t been given adequate time to shine? Killua wasn’t interesting till we got more of him, I didn’t think Kurapika was interesting till Yorknew, Gon didn’t become a stand out character for me till CA.

Leorio is a weakling because he hasn’t had time to train and because he wants to become a doctor. He’s never beaten anyone in the manga because he hasn’t had a real fight. Which also adds to my point of “he hasn’t been given adequate time to shine”.

I read OP and recognize that it’s a flaw in the series. You read OP too, no? Do you think it’s a perfect series with no flaws? No? Ok then. I don’t even know why you brought that up

Gon losing all of his potential and his nen just to train and get everything back just in time to come back and be the main character again during the Dark Continent arc would be shit. What would be the consequences of the CA arc then? Kite is alive, Gon was brought back with Alluka/Nanika Dark Continent magic and not only was he brought back but he’s also going to recover all of his abilities like nothing ever even happened?

Before you say “Netero died” Yeah he died but not before taking the strongest ant and the biggest threat to the human race down with him

What else?

Leorio deserves a chance to lead an arc just like the other 3 have. Saying he’s not as interesting as them (I partially disagree) is a given when they have entire arcs dedicated to them and he doesn’t

Kurapika and Killua have always been interesting since the first arc. Everyone had stand out moments within the Hunter Exam. Leorio however did not.

Leorio had more than enough time. Hes just not strong. Nor has he shown that he has high potential. Nor has he even shown interest in fighting people. Leorio is a doctor and not a fighter at all. This a battle manga. Not a medical one. I dont know what you expect from Togashi but Leorio is interested in healing people, not fighting them.

The consequences already occured….they were just off-panelled. Gon had character development….will never do what he did. Will have to retrain and take far more longer. Might have to develop a new hatsu. Will have to take a break from being a hunter. Will never get his potential again.

Yh you already said it….Netero died. Thats the strongest hunter and Nen user alive. The Ants took him with them. They also took Gon’s potential as well.

———
Eitherway Kurapika will have this arc to shine before Gon is likely brought back. And he will be….its already been alluded to that he can get his Nen back. Idrc if you want Leorio to be MC….in my opinion he doesnt look like he would lead interesting subplots. His character is a medic….hes not an adveturer like Gon and Killua….nor a bodyguard like Kurapika.

Kurapika wasn’t interesting during the Hunter Exams at all, at least to me. Killua didn’t have a stand out moment that sparked my interest till the end of it but I’ll give you that

Leorio hasn’t had more than enough time. He was studying to get into Med School while Gon and Killua were being trained by Veteran Hunters. Also, he does have potential which is confirmed by Ging during the Election arc.

He hasn’t shown interest in fighting people but it doesn’t mean he won’t have to. Every Hatsu Leorio has/has been hinted to have can be used in combat. I wonder why

You’re right it’s a battle manga. That’s exactly why Leorio will be a support type that can also handle himself in a fight. They’re going to the Dark Continent and you have to be able to hold your own no matter what your position may be.

So the consequences will basically be... not consequences at all? All of the supposed consequences are taking place offscreen?

Chrono I don’t think you understand what you’re saying here. He lost his potential but he’ll be able to regain his Nen and become strong enough to go to the DC and survive just in time? You would still have to be a 1 in a billion prodigy to do that

Wow he lost a basic Hatsu that he could recreate in an instant the moment he gets his mastery of Nen back. You’re acting like him losing Jajanken (one of the simplest Hatsus in the series) is a serious consequence. It isn’t one

Netero died taking down an ant with the potential to singlehandedly demolish the Human race. I’d say that’s a fair trade

Anyway, whether Gon comes back or not is up to Togashi. Either way it’s looking like we’ll get an arc or 2 dedicated to Leorio once we get to the DC or the New Continent. Togashi brought him along with Cheadle for a reason

Power up/Support buff coming soon

Tbh I don't care about leorio
I think he’s one of the more interesting characters and I’m really excited to see where Togashi takes him

But not everyone feels the same that’s cool

Leorio has potential sure. Just relooking at the manga and he does seem pretty strong. I mean I do remember the HxH anime doing hims absoutely dirty, when hes actually pretty strong in the manga…

But my point still stands…He has zero interest in combat and if he ever ends up being in a combat scenrio….someone else would put him inside it. I doubt Leorio could ever be a lone MC, but him being an MC with Kurapika wouldnt be bad. But again it seems like Togashi has no interest in him. We gotta wait and see.

My main idea was always Ging/Kurapika/Leorio end up being the MCs of the Dark Continent rather than just a single person

Mind you there are multiple POVs and 2 (iirc) different ships

The Black Whale and the ship Ging and Pariston are on

I was actually rereading the manga the other day and Leorio has quite a few things that are either excluded from the anime (they hate him smh) or most people forget

He opened not 1 but 2 of the testing gates when Kurapika and Gon could only open 1. Gon didn’t have as much training as Leorio did but Leorio was shown to 100% be physically stronger than both of them at that point

On top of that Ging gassed him up by saying that meeting him was the best part of the whole election and said he has huge potential

This actually holds up if you think about how long it took Zushi (1/100,000 potential) to open his aura nodes let alone how long it took him to master Ten (6 months) and Wing thinks Zushi is “very quick to learn”

Mind you Leorio didn’t start his training till AFTER he got done with his exams. So Leorio managed to master Ten sometime between the end of the Heaven’s Arena arc and the beginning of York New (a gap of only about a month and a half) which means it took him a month and a half at most which is much much faster than Zushi.

Imagine what Leorio could’ve learned if he had a master that bothered to tell him other categories of Nen even existed

I’m not saying he has Gon and Killua level talent (only rivaled by Tserriendich and Ging among humans so far) but he is wayyyyyyy above the average

Especially if you factor in how exceptional Zushi is supposed to be

I almost forgot something

Hisoka put Leorio in his Toy Box (people he wants to fight now or wait till they grow and fight them later) alongside the Zodiacs, the Phantom Troupe, the Zoldycks, and the Examiners

Togashi has definitely laid the groundwork for Leorio becoming a really strong combat medic

Yh you’re right. And Hisoka was one of the first few people to see Leorio’s potential. Thats why he didnt kill him in the hunter exam. Tbf when looking at all the evidences Leorio has more hype going on for him than Kurapika. However the big difference is that Leorio isnt interested in combat….whilst Kurapika has a combat role. Also Leorio’s lack of screentime in the latest arc is also alarming.

Idk lmao….Im a giant Gon fan and I need him back as the MC soon. Gon and Killua are the series triggers…Togashi just cant go far wihout having them back. Anyways I see their being a “New Continent” arc before the Dark Continent. Leorio can shine in that arc lol.

I think Kurapika HAS to be the main character for the Succession War because it’s almost 100% connected to him. Tserriednich is a major player and he has the remaining Kurta eyes, Kurapika is the bodyguard of Prince Woble and the biggest thing... The Phantom Troupe are on the ship as we speak

There’s no way Leorio could have a major role in an arc like this one

Personally I just don’t see how Togashi brings both of them back in time for them to make it to the DC. I think Killua will go maybe to find out more about Nanika/Alluka but I can’t really figure out what he plans to do with Gon

If there really is a New Continent arc then I think that’ll be more of a training arc for Leorio than anything. All speculation tho
