Break Week According to Usopp fans what would actually ruin his character?

I keep seeing people that don't even like Usopp or at the very least just tolerate him make all these claims about what would ruin Usopp's character

"Usopp getting any powerup outside of basic ob's haki would ruin his character"

"Usopp getting conquerors would ruin his character"

"Usopp conquering his fear would ruin his character"

Etc, etc, etc, so I'm asking people that actually like Usopp, what are some things that could happen in the story that would actually ruin his character?

Personally, I think Usopp staying weak and afraid of everything forever would ruin his character, a character that never grows or changes is boring and predictable

The biggest criticisms of Usopp are always about his cowardly actions, what exactly the character is and what he is developed for. Usopp hesitates, but in the end he musters up the courage to act and will do so until he finally becomes a brave warrior of the sea. Criticizing this is stupid because that's exactly what Usopp stands for.

What I don't like for example is that Oda turned it into just a convenience. For example in Punk Hazard when they need a boat and he has a giant banana seed. Now with the excuse of the seeds, Oda can solve several inconveniences in a simple way. That I think is something that ruins the character.

The problem lies within Usopp's character as a whole. His defining character trait is that he's a coward; it involves his dream, his high points, his low points, comedy scenes, basic interactions etc..

This is a big problem because it's either Usopp develops by overcoming his cowardice and thereby losing his core character trait, or keep his cowardice and remain stagnat, at least on the surface level.

It's honestly why Usopp was pretty bland in Sabody, FI and PH when he acted more brave, but went back to full coward in DR, making everyone complain that his development got screwed up.

Imo Dressrosa was worse for Ussop tham just messing up his development. His bullshit with the Tontatas bordered on making him a villain. He lied about being a great warrior to convince them to fight with him, then he ran away and let them die. His big "brave" moment going back for them was just the absolute basics to not being a complete piece of shit. It's good he came back, but the fact that he almost really did leave them is a huge blot on his character because it goes against everything he's supposed to believe in. He was almost in a category with Spandam and Wapol imo. Of course no one ever dies, so they probably wouldn't have actually been killed, but that was the implication. Point being, first they made him backtrack on his development, then they made him regress to much worse than he was in the beginning. Pre timeskip Ussop would never have even considered leaving the tontatas to die.

The Tontatass tied Usopp and Robin up and we're about to kill them, at least that's what it looked like, so I don't blame Usopp for lying to them, any other pirate would have done worse

Dressrosa set Usopp's development backwards because Oda realized he didn't even need to try with Usopp, just have him win in the most convenient ways possible and One Piece fans will eat that shit up, Wano is the biggest example of this

Lying about being a hero wasn't the bad part, it was using that to trick the tontatas into relying on him in the fight.

Usopp, Robin, Captain Buggy and Mr 3 were my fav characters. I have no issues with Usopp being a coward, however, the issue I have is how useless Oda has let Usopp become. He can still be a coward but at the same time prove himself like how he did in Alabasta and Thriller Park. Now, he is just there for unwarranted gags and is completely useless.

The only thing that ruins usopps character is Odas inability to actually let the character develop and have his shining moments without just reverting him back to his cowardice for comedic effect.

Hell, Japan doesn't even fuck with Usopp like that anymore. He's always been top 15, but the latest one placed him at 25. Only reason he was still top 15 now is because it was a global vote.

The east blue crew ( minus Usopp ) + robin are the only strawhats Japan cares about. Even the "cute" chopper is losing his appeal because there are better characters in the series.

Usopp needs to do some sniper fights in the same way that Zoro does sword fights. The fact that Usopp still hasn't fought a single enemy sniper is beyond comprehension.
