General & Others Ace is really so selfish

#1
Not only did he ignore Whitebeard's advice not to chase Teach‚ but even after he got rescued he still invalidated all the men killed to save him just for what ????

He was about to be killed having men getting killed to save him and he wastes all that cause akainu called whitebeard a coward ??? Is this a joke

Whitebeard would have been alive by now and him

The funny thing is that it was true that WB was a coward who ambushed from behind but Ace believed that the loser of the past era was more honorable than his real father and poor man died deceived :doffytroll::josad::doffytroll:

Anyway I think that more selfish was Wb, he literally sacrificed everything just for Ace and that he did not tire of talking about his children and that did not matter to him and he screwed up the lives of everyone else and for the son of his rival

  • Taught by WB that killing crewmate is the worst sin
  • He is a Conquerer
  • His last moment he sacrificed himself with his life for his brother
  • He faced Akainu because Akainu was disrespecting the man that came to die for him
This was some real G shit. He died for the people he loved.
He wouldn't have needed to sacrifice himself for Luffy not waste all these men lives if he didn't get provoked . It was obvious what Akainu was doing

This is similar to Luffy/Zoro not fighting Bellamy because his words meant nothing.
But also different because it wasn't Ace that Akainu was disrespecting, it was Whitebeard.

Luffy and Zoro didn't figh Bellamy t for their goals. They shouldered the burden. Ace didn't give any s***** about his people's sacrifice

I wouldn’t say he was selfish necessarily. Short sighted? Yes. Short tempered? Absolutely. He was an angry boy, forced to fight people away because he had a target on his back for being Roger’s son. Meeting Newgate and the others gave him a home and father he had been lacking in his life. Being overly zealous in his appreciation is his way of making up to the people he feels indebted to, even to an irrational degree. In the end, he gave his life for his brother. Can’t get anymore selfless than that.

Oda wanted to hammer home that Ace lived his last moments with no regrets. Even if it meant being reeled in by an avoidable bait. He died as he lived: stubborn, but compassionate.

The situation wouldn't have changed. Luffy's was far beyond his limits at that point. Whether Ace turned around to clash with Akainu is irrelevant, cause Luffy would have still fallen to the ground, Akainu would have gone for him, and Ace would have jumped in to save him.
Ace was fated to die on Marineford, and regardless if anything was done differently, it wouldn't have changed the outcome.

Any Pirate Captain worth their salt, and deserving of being the Captain would have done the same. Who the hell would follow someone that would abandon them? :choppawhat:

If you ain't willing to go to hell and back for the sake of one of your own, then you aren't fit to be the leader, and anyone in the crew who ain't willing to go to hell and back for one of their own ain't fit to be in the crew. It's that simple.

Imagine Whitebeard didn't go to Marineford to try and save Ace, and died being known as the man who abandoned one of his crew mates to be killed by the Marines. He'd be the laughing stock of the Pirate World. :whitepress:

Ace gave no **** about all those people sacrificing themselves to save him and wasted their effort‚ he gave no **** about Whitebeard last order or that he was staying behind for them to escape and finally they would have been on a ship already escaping before Luffy crumbled from Iva's hormone( that Ace wouldn't have been saved without to begin with ) which would have prevented all of this. It was obvious Akainu was playing to provoke him

This is about as wrong as it gets... he got pissed off because he cared about them.
