That's what this Law fight feels like. Ace and Law's fight against BB are probably the biggest non-straw hat fights to not be off-screened. Not counting Kid & Law vs Meme since that was on the same island as the straw hats

Bartolomeo is Ace 2.0
Ace was commander of WB's 2. divison. Barto is captain of Grandfleet's 2. ship. Both tell everyone they meet about Luffy. Both did a Sake cup ceremony. Barto's isn't finished yet. When Luffy frees him, when he beats Sakazuki, he will complete the Sakazuki ceremony with the Grandfleet. Shanks is on his way to beat Barto. After that, a navy ship will pull up and arrest the cannibal.

Except that Law will push Teach harder in the fight than Ace ever could.

Imo you are giving Law too much importance. I mean fans probably like him but Oda will not build another Ace plot with Law and neither make Law take revenge for Ace or something like that. Probably BB will give him a good beating, stole the road poneglyphs and go his way (Oda also set up Pudding to complete BB search for Laugh tale). Also Marineford was a compilation of non SH fights better than this (at least if Oda doesn't build more on this one, until now the novelty of this Law vs BB is that we have a sea battle with a team specialized in naval battles) like WB vs Akainu, WB vs BB and crew, WB vs Marineford pretty much. Also the fight between GB and Wano people and then Shanks was fun too.

Yeah, I agree. I don't think there'll be a rescue arc or anything. I think it's a cool parallel though
