Even though he ordered them to take a hostage, he is a pirate, and the oda pirates classify them as Luffy described for katakuri in their duel.
"When pirates battle pirates with pistols and swords, there's no rules or honor, just war. All the loser leaves behind is a dead body."
The oda did something practically nobody has done so far, which was to make a pirate like Kaido apologize for someone's intrusion into his 1v1.
The oda makes this clear in the opening chapters of one piece, we are dealing with PIRATES and not saints.

This makes kaido more honorable hehe.
I need an urgent flash back from this man, I want to hear his stories.

WB's title was absolute; people are debating on Kaido being the true strongest or not. The very fact that out of all the freakshows at the top of the food chain, Kaido being the only candidate for the strongest is good portrayal for him so I dont see the problem.

No. Oda is literally the writer for Strong World. He literally wrote the movie. You're thinking of Stampede.

Edit, from Wikipedia : Oda personally supervised the production of Strong World, created the film's original story and over 120 pages of rough drawings. Furthermore, he placed his own name on the film's credits to indicate his desire for a film that is different from its nine predecessors

People need to come terms with the fact that Oden cutting Kaido is more of a testament of Oden's Will to defend Wano than Kaido being weak

This is One Piece where willpower means everything, This doesn't mean that a fodder can defeat Whitebeard with enough will, it just means that with enough willpower you can defy logic which is the only reason why Oden managed to cut Kaido ,the fact that he went down after one hit from Kaido proves that he was punching above his weight and wouldn't have done shit to Kaido in a normal fight

Kaido could slip on a banana pill & you'll have people saying "banana pill >>>> Kaido" "Kaido is weak" etcetc

Damn I wish that Oda somehow would show us more about Shiki and his crew.Hope that he will let some other managaka draw a prequel about OP when the manga is over,of course with Oda's supervision .

Oda literally made a movie about them which he wrote (no supervision, he made it himself) but the fans like to pretend they know more about Oda's work than Oda

chances are he legitimately is the strongest as the goal for a main character in the series. If you have info on how he got his title and you can provide that , then you have an argument. right now , you dont.

Lol Mihawk will lose to Zoro in Elbaf, which will also be where Shanks loses to Luffy.
