currently viewed as the strongest, the past doesn’t matter. He also didn’t take any hostage, it was all the hag. It was also established by oda himself if you got the right haki you can hurt him. Tho if your ap sucks you won’t do much.
But then again, I don’t expect people to actually read further than their nose.

"When pirates battle pirates with pistols and swords, there's no rules or honor, just war. All the loser leaves behind is a dead body."
The oda did something practically nobody has done so far, which was to make a pirate like Kaido apologize for someone's intrusion into his 1v1.
The oda makes this clear in the opening chapters of one piece, we are dealing with PIRATES and not saints.
This makes kaido more honorable hehe.
I need an urgent flash back from this man, I want to hear his stories.
Worororo!

WB was still called the definitive strongest guy in the manga and the novel, while in both the manga and novel, Kaido was not.
In the manga, Law said people say Kaido's the strongest creature with emphasis on being that he's not human. With Kaido's introduction, it was once again presented as a rumor. With WB, he was the only person with the strength to equal Roger and no one questioned his position as the strongest.
In the novel, it was said that Kaido is LIKELY aka, probably or he could be the strongest. It continues the trend of Kaido's title never being stated as absolute and they went beyond that by saying if you're sitting down drinking aka spreading rumors. To take the Kaido title as definitive leads to contradictions.
WB's title was absolute; people are debating on Kaido being the true strongest or not. The very fact that out of all the freakshows at the top of the food chain, Kaido being the only candidate for the strongest is good portrayal for him so I dont see the problem.

That alone says a lot.
