Questions & Mysteries Admiral Fans what did Oda mean by this?

Small disclaimer: I am not here to discuss Powerscaling or anything like that, just trying to discover what Oda's intentions could have been.

So, I was rewatching the MarineFord Episodes again after a long time, and there was a particular scene that caught my attention. First I thought, okay before I jump to conclusions better check the Manga panels, could be non-canon scenes added by Toei again, but to my surprise, no, they weren't added. It also appeared in the Manga.

In chapter 551 at the End

We can see all the higher ups presently feeling something approaching from underwater. The small detail that I want to talk about is Oda putting emphasis only on Akainus' ear here, as if he sensed it before anybody else.

Yes, The Voice of all things is what I am talking about.

The 2 small panels left and right of Akainus' ear are very similar to when we saw Roger and Oden use the Voice of all things in the top right corner of the panel below. The random bubbles and prefixes

I don't know what to make of this, I just wanted to share my thoughts. No way to confirm anything yet.

Have a nice day.

"The small detail that I want to talk about is Oda putting emphasis only on Akainus' ear here, as if he sensed it before anybody else."

It's not impossible but it doesn't have to mean that at all though. All the admirals are shown to know something is up on the second panel, with the first trembling underwater being on the first panel. So they are all picking it up around the same time.

It could be that Oda is zooming in on akainu's ear merely as an example for what the other admirals are picking up as well, could he have just added that same sound affect for all the admirals on the previous panel though? perhaps he chose not to do so for an artistic choice, or simply to put focus on Akainu as the centre point.

Off-topic but damn this page makes sweatgoku look pathetic. The contrast between the calm, composed Chadmirals and the useless retard Bumgoku couldn't be more striking.

Look at Gigazan, completely unbothered ready to counter anything that's coming. No wonder Bumgoku wanted him to take over.
Sengoku is an embarrassment to the Admiral title. Wouldn't stop twerking the entire arc.

All the old gens are sweating, that doesn't make them look bad.

What went over your head is sengoku is the fleet admiral, he is the strategist in charge of this whole debacle.

What does Tsuru literally say in the panel? "Our formation could be all wrong" anyone would be sweating buckets when something weird is going on, and the way all your troops are laid out could be a potential catastrophe, which is made obvious when even garp is worried and talking about how something outrageous is about to happen.

It could have literally been anything and cost many marine lives before the battle even began, in that moment where despite your best efforts, you could still be responsible for throwing away unnecessary lives you think it somehow looks bad to sweat?

The admirals don't hold that same weight, they aren't the Fleet Admiral, they literally just do as they are told and follow orders like the good lapdogs they are, it's easy to remain calm when you don't shoulder that kind of responsibility.

He started the debacle. Starting a war and tweaking out about how hard you could lose is just silly.

On topic, Unlike Cuck haki, the VOAT is still something kept super rare, only Luffy/Roger and Momo/Oden, it's confirmed that no one else in the Roger pirates have it, so I really don't think any villains with no connection to the void century could have it, and possibly no villians aside from Imu at all. And yeah, Akainu destroying WB's ship is a big deal

Isn't this more of an observation haki thing? The Admirals did flex a bit of impressive haki during Marineford? Plus in Skypeia, we had all that insane hearing range stuff with Enel and Aisa and they called it "Mantra" ofc? The only Marine I could see getting VOAT is Koby, maybe Dragon as an ex Marine?

But then again we know so little about VOAT to this day still, Luffy communicated with Momo and Zunesha whilst unconscious underwater IIRC and I had hoped Scopper would bring it VOAT but maybe it will be later if Luffy has a moment with it and Scopper recognises it? Scopper wanted them to meet him when the "great war" or w/e was over at Elbaf and thus "at the end of the arc", so I suppose it would be then instead? A great big lore dump from Scopper and thus some big reveals too?

Plot twist the thing Scopper wanted to tell Sanji is that he has VOAT /s.

Gotta love how Sengoku can’t even account for WB using the very basic tactic of using what’s essentially a submarine :kobeha:

Tho tbf idk if that’s a Sengoku L or Oda L

"Isn't this more of an observation haki thing?"

Of course ! I don't know why observation haki didn't occur to me immediately when I wrote all of this. Proves once again that sometimes the answers are right in front of your nose.

Yeah; Voat needs to be explained better. Still wondering what Madame Shyarly used when she saw the "future" or future events. That far surpasses any future sight we have seen so far. If that even was future sight.

Oh the irony! Moewu the irony even! Usopp would be disappointed in your lack of observation haki! Even though Oda has forgotten his for years too as well ironically lmao.

Nah but seriously, this is why 2nd opinions help a lot, a fresh perspective can change everything. Its why I like messing with perspective on a more literal level sometimes, as in shapes and landscapes and such. "Opening the 3rd eye" so to speak lol. The simplest answers are usually the most reliable/accurate/obvious, I cant' tell you the amount of times I've been oblivious to the sheer obvious and such too. You could hide an elephant in a room from me lmao.

Exactly man, both Hawkins and Shyarly have been quite sus in that regard. Hawkins "predicting the future" so far ahead of time supposedly and what Shyarly did make me think of Future Sight even before Katakuri revealed it but I expected it to be WAY longer than a few seconds and thus actual visions. Seeing a few seconds of it in realtime would be one application and the deep future projections would be another and I'd extend to be able to see into the past, I really wanted to see Pudding's memory fruit used in this way too, its awakening would go SO HARD potentially.

I thought Mihawk, Shanks, Imu at least would portray this extreme insight into the future type ability. Toki did the same I think with her DF, it would explain her actions and confidence. I can't believe how much Oda dropped the ball with her character and the DF itself, but thats a whole other topic ofc.

Extreme range would be another applicate of CoO too as we've seen in Skypeia and also implied by Mihawk too, when I think he heard about what was going on with the Reverie or something?

I would also extend it to being able to "hear things that make no noise", to "hear silence itself", thus the most truly perfect masters of CoO could potentially counter Corazons silencing DF to some degree at least?

I also had an idea for Mihawk where he would "implant" FS into you and show you what he was going to do you to either intimidate you and thus show you your own potential death or grievous injury at least, immediately from his hands or to "warn" you discreetly like I believe he did to Luffy (although Luffy ould have just subconsciously used FS back then I guess ofc, he was dodging Enels rapid trident attacks or w/e his weapon was, with his "baka mode" and doing like a "dumb version" of ultra instinct, way over a decade before DBS even did it lmao).

God, I'm so desperate to learn more about VOAT, even if its for the worse though somehow. I hope we finally get some more on it soon. I hoped to learn more about it during Egghead, I HOPED lmao. Sigh.

It would only make sense if it was before the 3 Admirals panel reacting to it. We already got introduced to Aokiji at Water 7 and Kizaru at Sabaody. We barely saw anything from Akainu at Robin's backstory. So this was the arc to focus on him.

"He started the debacle. Starting a war and tweaking out about how hard you could lose is just silly." He's not tweaking about how hard he could lose, it's literally just the current situation, I don't know why I have to interpret what's going on, on panel for you, you should have enough reading comprehension.

The reason you think it's silly, is because you don't understand narrative, or you simply don't care to understand the narrative from certain characters perspective because you have a silly agenda to maintain.

Also you wanted him to just let the son of Roger go? and continue to be a pirate and get stronger and stronger to the point where he is a major threat to the WG and Marines? If anything that would be silly.

Ace's Bounty didn't factor in him being Rogers son, if anything taking out the son of Roger is worth war in this case, Roger was the greatest criminal besides Dragon, and Xebec actually.
