Bleach is the epitome of style over substance. A manga that defines what it means to be averagely average.
On my A Rank Scale of Excellence (the acronym is intentional) then Bleach gets a solid 6/10. Can be enjoyable at times but is objectively average at best.
I personally treat shonen series as just that, superficial but fun. One Piece is praised a lot but imo it's same level as Bleach, maybe a bit better if you remove post timeskip all together.

I do not agree with Bleach being One Piece’s equal.
One Piece has far more emotional weight to it’s narrative, superior characters, a far more creative and diverse setting, superior world building, superior character designs, a far superior plot and I would even say a superior protagonist.
Granted, I am a little under halfway through Bleach but according to Bleach fans I know, I am apparently in the best part of Bleach, which is just.... lel.
The more I read of Bleach, the more it walks an increasingly fine line between being superficial but fun and just being straight up superficial.
Yeah I like bleach and as a teen I watched or read it weekly so I have still great nostalgia for some characters and plot and I am biased.
And this is 100% sure that I will watch the new anime of the last arc.
But bleach is objectively the worst of the big three. Naruto is quite better and one piece is a lot better.
Bleach has too many problems (narrative power level world building etc ) but one of the biggest is the lack of food for thought.
In naruto you have the war between villages, the politics, the poor, the young soldiers, the mercenaries, terrorism etc. Some of the things in the story make you think.
In one piece you also have some politics (minor but yet), slavery, racial questions, war different justices etc.
But in bleach all the things that could have been deeper are not : the conflict between quincies and shinigami is never really explored deeper and was always treated in a superficial way, the Rukongai and the lawless areas are treated lightly too etc. Everything was just superficial and just are pretext to introduced the fights.
But yeah there are good characters and Soul society arc when you are 13/14 is a masterpiece
It's true, it has many world building and - more importantly - plot issues. My main problem with it always was its one dimensional linear plot. Where Naruto and One Piece have a lot of layers and finesse, Bleach doesn't.
But what I liked about Tite Kubo was the amazing character design, somehow he makes every character look gorgeous. In that sense to me he is the most superior. And I liked knowing more about the characters whenever they were introduced - the Past arc is one of my faves for that very reason. Story-wise it's not groundbreaking of course, but I liked seeing the dynamic of the previous captains, learning more about them etc. Whenever he introduces a new set of gorgeous characters, I'm interested in them.
And maybe why I respect him the most: thank you for giving us some female fighters which aren't useless.
On top of a less linear plot, I wish he exploited Hollow Ichigo more - this was done better in Naruto's case - his descent into darkness and losing control was a great concept which Tito decided to get rid of pretty quickly by having Ichigo master it. HE SHOULD HAVE RAMPAGED MORE OR MAYBE ACCIDENTALLY KILLED ORIHIME.
When the Hollow started appearing though, it was a pretty exciting time. And honestly it still works for me, I've rewatched it a couple of times in recent years.

Naruto could have been more interesting, if Kishimoto could have explored other villages and other characters before they make an alliance against Obito and co and more importantly, he could have toned down Naruto obsession with Sasuke ......
Bleach has cool design and cool sword fights but lacks solid story and world building....
the only thing One Piece lacking is solid side character fights and bit of mature content ....but Oda proved that the character can be interesting without badass design

Very true about everything. Kishi mishandled the main characters later on, but alas it's still one of the biggest stories and successes ever.
With Oda I just wish he was allowed to make it a tad bit more dark and mature (what I prefer in Naruto), but at the end of the day he is pulling this off perfectly as the most hard working person on the planet and I can't complain.
I like Naruto very much in the first season and in the pain arc and some moments in the finar war but rest of the time..."Sasuke..Sasuke..." and I was like "just live that psychopath alone"

Yeah but still I like that talk no jutsu because they both have same masters and they both can relate to each other...in fact I enjoyed that arc because it turned that way instead of just killing the enemy....

Yeah, at some point you can't tell who's more crazy; Naruto or Sasuke (ok, probably Sasuke still). Even Sakura was like "let's kill Sasuke" in her single moment of reason.

What???? Ichigo looks great! Not even near the best in Bleach, but still pretty great.
Half of the game he looked like he didn't control anything that everything was against him that he was always behind and had to catch up because things were too fast for him
