Neat!

I get GB and Akainu's equivalents, but I'm be interested in knowing your logic/reason for Kizaru's and Fuji's.
Fuji and Linlin both have a morality behind their reasons. Albeit Linlin’s is more twisted than a pretzel, her end game goal is a world / country with equality. I think Fujitora is a little obvious as why he’d be most like Linlin, he’s the only moral admiral.

Kizaru and Shanks are mostly because they are both unclear and either unambiguous or fine with the status quo. This might change the more we see of Shanks but he seems mostly content being another pirate as opposed to a shot caller. And Kizaru’s attitude and philosophy matches.

So a while ago, I noticed some small resemblances between the five Admirals and the new - gen pirates/Yonko.

This is regarding the same. It's pretty surface-level stuff, so don't mind it too much if it contradicts your own interpretations.

Anyways, here goes:

Akainu - Mihawk:
> They have the fanciest titles - one's the Fleet Admiral and the other's the WSS.

> They are both big red dudes with a certain motif (Yakuza/Dracula)

> Both are haters of the other team - Akainu loathes pirates and Mihawk is the Marine Hunter.

> Probably the strongest marine and pirate as of now by a slight margin

> Both represent a personal obstacle to an MC. Zoro wants to surpass Mihawk and Luffy's reaction on hearing of Akainu was to clutch his scar.

> Despite their natures, both of them are rather dormant - Akainu being stuck in a desk post - TS and Mihawk tending to avoid fights are things they've been slandered for.

> Both of them can compromise with the other side if needed - Mihawk served the WG as a Warlord and Akainu didn't want to disband the Warlords due to lack of manpower despute them being pirates.

> Both of them hang out with a drippy mafia guy (Kizaru and Croc).

Kizaru - Luffy:
> Monke animal motif.

> Connection to the Sun; Luffy is the Sun God and Kizaru wields the power of light and heat.

> Themes centering around Freedom - Warrior of Liberation vs self proclaimed cog in machine.

> Both like food and enjoy fighting ; Kizaru despite his laziness is lowkey a Blood Knight given how quickly he tends to be willing to fight strong opponents.

> Each was trained by a top-tier haki user who wore glasses, had an epithet themed after an IRL diety and was nearly as strong as their legendary friend (Sengoku/Rayleigh).

> Both seem to favour barrage attacks - Luffy with his punches and Kizaru with his yasakani and defensive fighting style against G4.

> Both have a fiery (literally and figuratively) brother (Akainu/Ace)

> Same bounty on EH.

They also contrast each other in some ways:

- Their personalities are a contrast - One's a calm intelligent sarcastic guy and the other's excitable dumb earnest guy.
- Oldest Admiral vs youngest Yonko.

Kuzan - Shanks :
a. Both crippled and missing a limb
b. Both connected to BB in a way
c. Both are actively looking for the OP
d. They are both former proteges of the top old gen Marine ( Garp) and pirate (Roger)
e. Both of them are people who competed for a certain title (FA/WSS) only to barely lose.

Fujitora - Law/Blackbeard:
> He's a calm haxxy swordsman like Law
> Has gravity-related powers like BB
> Fought one of Luffy's bros like BB did (Sabo/Ace)

As a contrast, Fuji is the only unambiguously good Admiral while BB is the evilest member of WB's crew.

Ryokyogyu - Kidd:
> They are both aggressive bull- themed fighters
> Both have abilities associated with nature (plants vs metal)
> Both got screwed over by Shanks
> Both are part of a trio with a calm swordsman guy and a goofy monke.
> Both have darwinistic only-the-strong-may-survive attitudes.

Also a contrast: GB uses nature based powers while Kid uses technological constructs.

Thoughts? Any other pirates you think might resemble the five Admirals we've been introduced to?

I've only used the new-gen ones here, so there's probably a lot more.
It was almost perfect until you said Mihawk ~ Akainu

I don't really see how both are equivalent of each other

Yes, as others have said Blackbeard might have been a better comparison at least in terms of narrative impact/role.

Mihawk, well, I was thinking that both he and Akainu are a personal obstacle for an MC plus they both hate their opposite "factions" (Pirate/Marine) despite compromising with them.

So you know, surface level stuff like that.

Aside from Akainu I can't really think of any other current gen Marine comparison for Mihawk.

Maybe Fujitora since they both have excellent observation, are associated with apex predators and are swordsmen.
