Yeah in the spoilers thread he was saying that Akainu would be Luffys final fight as a human before he starts fighting gods and shit or maybe Akainu will fight Warcury and die a hero taking him down with him and today he went and digged out an sbs statement from Oda and went back on everything he said lol. Its really funny to read atleast. I guess he will use it as a crux until the final war and akainu is defeated or fights someone else and Luffy goes on to fight stronger foes.

It kinda does since Luffy will go on to be stronger meaning Akainu with his strength couldnt get it done. Unless he grows stronger. Basically as a protagonist Akainu would have protagonist growth but as a non protagonist his strength wont grow.

I agree wholeheartedly, it is great hype for him and you know I have him as top 2 right now with Mihawk discounting Imu and whatever. Ive always been fair about Akainu.

I completely agree with you. I posted the exact samething. Here it is :

If chapter 1 luffy started as strong as Akainu then yes the manga will end in 1 year.

But if chapter 1 luffy started as strong as whitebeard, roger, shanks, kaido, dragon or mihawk then the manga probably will end in 6 months or less.

Thats why protagonist is luffy and not those people.
