Luffy is also a Zoan and a Mythical one and if bullshit healing like meat or simply heart beating. Being a Zoan doesn't mean nothing about healing. Crocodile states that awakened Zoan(aka Luffy) has better regen not unawakened ones.

Doesn't matter how much they did if they lost they were in a worst condition than those who won.

Arbel is not pathetic, he's a survivor.
He's been through many tough experinces throughout his childhood and life, but he prevailed because he knew he must stay alive until he meets Joy Boy, and for that he must be loyal to Kaido until he is defeated.
You don't even know if GB managed to drain his body, it isn't shown. Arbel can survive any natural environment, including that imposed by GB. He will survive, and his people's history will be revealed to us eventually, because if they were the former residents of the Holy Land, they are strongly connected to the void century and thus Arbel could be vital to the story in the future.
So go ahead and underestimate him while you can.
