Did they ever fix the performance issues and update the animations or is the game still Meh/10?
Nintendo can afford to update a game, but why does it seem like Pokémon makes that so difficult?
They literally updated Mario Kart 7 just to fix an exploit.

The Pokemon Anime with Ash and Pikachu ending kind of hits hard for me.
I've been watching the Pokemon Anime ever since I was a kid starting with the very first episode, I started with the 4kids dub before eventually switching over to the sub during the XY Series.
Also the Pokemon Anime was my very first anime, I pretty much grew up with both the Pokemon games and also the anime.
So seeing the Pokemon Anime with Ash and Pikachu finally end is a bit sad to see.
But at the same time I'm also happy that they are doing this, imo I don't think a new series with Ash and Pikachu would have worked especially since they pretty much did everything and one of the biggest worry was the possibility of the anime nerfing Ash again and that's something no one wants to see.
So while it is sad to see the main series end, I do think it is also a good thing.

I will die if there was no timeskip whatsoever and Ash is still a kid battling trainers much older than him. 
The series should’ve started out with him as a kid, then made him older overtime.
The series would’ve still done well, since most anime protagonists are over 10 years old. Young Goku and Gon were 12 years old!
