You just gotta keep running in and out of the area.

Got 2 Bisharps in a group within 5 min and then I killed about 30 bisharps 1v1 w/o any pawniards and it took me about 3 hrs to get the 3rd bisharp with a group. None of them the entire time held or dropped a Leaders Crest but I was able to evolve my Bisharp to a Kingambit anyway

got kinda pissed the Knicks lost on Christmas (again) but I was able to find a trading livestream and I now have every legendary + paradox w/o even touching the 5th Gym so I guess that makes up for it?

Nah Arecus is way better than Scarlet/Violet imho overall as well as the open world/catching features (not to mention no abrupt crashes or lag). Like @DarkWitch said you should give PLA a chance first

Don't skip Arceus. It's the best modern pokemon game by far, maybe the best pokemon game period.

I loved how challenging some of the Team Star boss battles were. Them special vroom car thingys were tough.
