I'm almost done with the DLC pokedex and only 2 more legendaries to catch from the special scans but I always get those wild zones with pokemon that I don't need or those stupid battle zones. I'm losing patience!
Everytime I head to the rust syndicate being all hopeful and that bum Phillipe gives me a stupid zone. Efforts wasted!
I'm surprised you decided to continue that game. You should get that walking wake and iron crown while you are at it cuz they are limited edition pokemon, you prolly won't be able to catch after this event ends.

wow!! I have been saying iron crown all the time, it's actually iron leaves. Oh well.

No worries, you can do it. You have time until 4th Jan. If you don't have kingambit, scizor is also a great counter. And for the walking wake, you can go for a bellibolt.
Go grind some levels by chansey exp farming near that field in front of the fairy crew star base!! Gambatte!

I've been getting really lucky with the grass starters.
I was able to get a female Venusar, Shiny Venusar, and Alpha Venusar, as well as female Sceptile, Shiny Sceptile, and Alpha Sceptile, and I also caught a Shiny Chespin.

Shiny chikorita was my first shiny in this game. I wasn't even trying to catch and the little cutie just appeared.
Besides that I have been getting pretty random shinies like two binacles, musharna, a bunch of bunnelbys, stunfisk etc.
My most prized shiny so far is a shiny alpha skarmory.
Is it just my luck, or are the catch rates in ZA absurdly low?? I spent hours fast traveling to catch an Eevee, but it took several dozen attempts (after battling/stunning it) before it stayed in the damn ball…no idea how I’m supposed to catch Fennekin or Froakie either, they always notice me when I’m half a zone away and disappear the second I throw a ball

i did the side quest hyperspace battle and then the main story battle at hotel richissime back to back and man she was terrible for both.
i almost lost the hyperspace battle because both jacinthe and lebanne's pokemon kept ganging up on my pokemon (also was underleveled with only enough berries for +Lv. 22) while completely ignoring Lida's or one-shotting her within seconds (i didn't realize she keeps looping her 3 pokemon over and over even if they get knocked out multiple times). I also tried to use some new pokemon for the dlc (namely Mega Absolt Z which was a huge mistake against Jacinthe) but that wasn't working at all so i closed the game at a save point and went back to my main team
for the main story battle, i used ice fang to freeze jacinthe's sylveon and left it at 40% hp while I concentrated on Griselle's pokemon. when I finished off Griselle's Mega Pyroar, I came back to see that the Sylveon was still frozen and still at 40% HP while Lida's Starmie was running around in circles doing absolutely nothing

My worst encounter was dratini and it took so many tried to catch it. I was also quite low level at that time.
Fennekin and froakie too.
Quick balls helped a lot and ofc the backstrike and saving the game before the encounter.
