Kid's role is likely to lead whatever pirates don't end up allying with Buggy or Luffy by the EoS.
Like the Kid alliance would have honestly been a pretty powerful crew had it worked. My guess is in Elbaf, Kid creates a successful alliance that he eventually leads in the final war.
