Character Discussion Among these 3 Who Has the Saddest Backstory?

robim had the saddest by far but the other two get me more emotional. Robin's story is action packed and the sadness doesnt really hit you until she on the boat laughing( if I recall correctly)
choppers story is highlighted by the scene of hililuk doing a speech and like Bon clays speech it will make you shed manly tears. I mean the way he stood before all those soilders and doctors and wapol the pacing of the scene is master class.
when dalton stars tearing up and hikiluk asks why and ask's hililuk can islands be cured. just genius.
chopper crying when he sees the sakura flowers is probably the best voice acting in all of animation
brooke's story is sad but truely iconic. i might be a little numb to it since ive watched that scene a hundred times. though over time it's really more epic and moving than it is just purely sad.
they really arent scenes to compare in terms of sadness.
robin's scene perfectly explained her character and actions and added to the story more than just about any other backstory.
choppers story was a beautifully told story and my introduction to one puece almost 20 years ago its probably why i stuck with the manga for so long. it was so masterful that it literally could have been its own movie or manga. it worked so well with american teenagers who probably didnt like a chibi reindeer joining the crew. really good move by Oda.
brooke's story by the time in the manga so many epic things had happened. oda was in his prime and probably had real pressure to keep preforming st the level he was and he really delivered. the fact that he was connected to laboon is storytelling but sconnecting the two arcs the way he did along with binks sake just showed us why preskip oda was probably the best mangka that ever lived.
I wpuld probably say that my top 5 scenes in One piece are
1. luffy punching mohji(making Nami like him and really solidfying who he was as a character)
2.when Nami was shot and vivi showed Luffy to bow his head preceding the whole drum island arc which i mentioned is a masterpiece
3. smokers speech to tashigi then telling the wg to eat shit
4. like i said hilikus speech or making the cherry blossom snow is easily one of the greatest momentd in one piece
5. theres so many options in pretime skip including i want to live, calagra and nolands story including ringing the bell, ace dying, bellemere, burning the flag, usopp,s speech or even sanji lighting his ciggeratte.
but for #5 i might say Sanji making gin food. even before the backstory with Zeff I dont think any strawhat perfectly displayed why they should be on Luffy's crew more. at this point I was hoping for the dude with big arms to join even though I knew it would be Sanji. though the thing thst makes it so epuc is because Sanji went against his coworkers/peers not to make food for Luffy but some random pirate he had no connection with because it was his belief. You were on the same page as Luffy at that moment like yeah I want that chef no matter what and that momentbas a teen made me want to be a chef which I was for ten years. truely a great scene and highlight of the manga.
