We don't have the background for Ryuma. I doubt Sanji's gene modifications would account to anything if he were not a strong individual, look at his brothers, whose modifications are said to be a success compared to his, but basically are already fodder by Whole Cake Island.

Yeah. Kizaru is familiar with VP (and his tech). If there's a tech that can disperse/scatter his laser, he would've know, so he shouldn't be that surprised.

That’s the thing is all laser tech is built on the concept of Kizaru. Sanji being able to do something against his power beyond his scope of knowledge is crazy. As Kizaru said “Well have to rewrite the physics books.”
