It depends on how you understood the preceding arcs and events.. the song sets the tone right and makes it a very poignantly nostalgic.. this opening was when the war hits its climax and ace dies... and luffy descends into trauma and mental turmoil

the opening that comes right after sets the tone for a change.. it fits in the resolution spectrum of the plot.. where it leads up to the events of time skip and hopes of major change in the series .. op 14 is a collective memoir... in a way it says.. "move forward on this course with most reminiscing of your memories "


a brilliant resolution...

Except I didn't think Ace death was sad nor I cared about it
that why i never vibed with that dramatic opening lol
