Character Discussion Anyone else think that the Seraphim were kinda dumb additions to the story?

Tbh I’m not really sure what the point of the Seraphim is. Feels like they just exist to pad out the amount of fights in the final war. They’re not really interesting as characters since they’re just essentially mindless robots, and their fighting styles are pretty much just copies of the Warlords’ fighting styles, but with a little bit of King and Queen mixed in. Their existence also begs the question of why the WG doesn’t just make even more of them. Why not have S-Admirals and S-Yonko?
You can ask the same thing about giants for final war. The country is full of nothing but fodder save for a couple of em and Revs more or less fulfill same purposes of being the liberation army at this point

Seraphim are most likely stronger fodder control and might make good clash piece for Oda

I get it from the stand point of keeping a power as strong as the warlords on the wg side. As a plot point I don't like it as they basically can't lose to anyone unless they have a unique ability to bypass their durability or have top tier ap. The are basically invincible to 99% of the op world. Either oda is going to have to nerf them or buff the op world if they ever get into any actual fight. Most characters can't do anything to them and oda isn't going to let the wg use that to their advantage but is going to make the wg use them stupidity because they are to strong. Imo I'd rather the wg have just kept the Warlord system.
The Seraphim don't have the Abyss powers, it's just because they are Lunarians, they are genetically very durable.

The problem with trying to have it both ways: dumbass gag explanations define the series, and yet this is a serious plot where that would obviously just mean lazy writing. S-Hawk has the mind and skills of adult Mihawk with an identical sword, but his own personality despite no will of his own, abilities outside of Mihawk's scope, and no ability to process the relationship with Zoro which would have come about before they were created. For examples. These are things I think Oda would just half ass with explaining since he hasn't bothered yet

I mean, isn't OG Kuma technically the OG Seraphim? Dunno why they needed another

Oda gave us the more boring Seraphims. I'd take S-Mingo, S-Clown, S-Crocs & S-Hawk (without Yoru) all day

Seraphim Cross Guild? Anyone?:suresure:

They exist to pad out fights like you stated, but I can also see them to fill out storylines

for ex

S-Flamingo could maybe be redeemed by Law. Proving Corazon wrong about Doffy being inherently evil

S-Bear could serve as Bonney’s new guardian or better yet she can be a big sis figure to him

S-Hawk can be Zoro’s disciple post EOS

S- Snake can serve as the next empress if Hancock ends up with Luffy EOS

basically they can exist to give side characters better endings
