The fact Zoro's chapter is coming means he'll recover in some form for another fight. So glad my Nami-needs-stronger-lightning prediction is coming to fruition.

I’m convinced this is counting down to the straw hats vs Kaido.

It’s poetic if he’s using their greatest loss as a team and separation to countdown to their unification and battle as a team.
