Those who talk about Dropping One Piece after reading 1075 chapters and watching 1050+ episodes are just attention seekers. I have never thought of dropping it but becoming a volume only reader would be something I'd do if Oda ever makes Luffy struggle again after beating Kaido.
These along with Vegapunk (before Egghead ironically), Doflamingo, All Admirals, Kuma, Smoker, Tashigi, Buggy and his crew, Garp, Blackbeard and some of his crew, all Supernovas I guess, especially Law, Kidd, Killer, Urouge, Capone and obviously Luffy and Zoro. Also include Bepo too.
Was gonna drop it after Oda's L fiasco with his poor Wano ending.
But then someone said that Zoro's backstory might have connections with the Revolutionaries, Shimotsuki symbols being carried by them.
That plus cross guild, and the Blackbeard pirates are keeping me around
What keeps me in One Piece are mostly the mysteries and backstories, and also my commitment to translate the manga for Hebrew reading fans (there is no official translation to Hebrew).
But the characters who have kept me glued to the series are the two I fell in love with: First it was Ace, back at Marineford. I fell in love with him so hard that it hadn't abated for 6 years, even if he died. I think Yamato's meeting with him closed the circle for me so I could finally let go, and now for a year or so, I'm in love with King. His character, past and race are so mysterious still, that I can't stop thinking of him and even now in the new saga, the Seraphim represent him and I hope they'll teach me more about who he really is.
