Controversial Are you nationalistic?

I'm proud of being russian. My country and its ancestors changed the world in many ways, for better or worse. But I'm not nationalist, I'm open-minded for other countries cultures and want to visit them. But it's not really possible right now, i'm not very rich.

I wouldn't describe myself as being proud to be an American. I'm proud of things that I've personally done. I just happened to be born in this country.

However, I would be offended of people insult me because I'm an American because they're trying to insult me. My husband is Canadian (recently immigrated to the US!), and I remember going out with them and their brother to this Chinese place in Montreal. And I got defensive when they started speaking badly about America "losing" some war. So I can't say that I'm not indifferent to it either. If someone talks to me about how great Finland or Germany is constantly, I'll just tell them to just move there.

I think that I'm appreciative of my country for the opportunities it has given to me. I think that's the best way to describe it.

I would also describe myself as being appreciative of my heritage and ethnicity.

Somewhat i guess but it also makes me cringe when people stick to the achievement of their ancestors like they have done something
You are a loser regardless of whatever some guy did 1000 years ago or when you see a guy that is too lazy to get a job and feed his family is ripping his shirt open because some guy that lives in his 1000km radius won something.

Used to be nationalistic, neo traditionalist, extremely proud of my clan. heritage and religion, still am to an extent. I have been on both sides of political spectrum respectively which helps me see the world with a wider lens. But lately nihilistic thoughts are creeping in, Humanity is always changing whether you like it or not so its a matter of time. Civilisations rise and all every millennium, people get attached to new identities, it happens slowly but surely. So it doesn’t matter at the end.

But I like to experience some sense of belonging and the nostalgia attached to.

I don't like nationalism bc it's inherently xenophobic in my opinion especially when the country is named after the ethnicity itself which as an immigrants / minorities you'd feel left out and ofc this things can lead to hatred and bigotry :(

The notion of nations is inheretily stupid in todays age. The world government will soon centralize power into one. We do not need nations since soon we wont need to work. Nations and ethnicities were formed because it was a survival mechanism so much so that they inbreeded. So to answer your question im neither proud or ashamed

My heritage, my ethnicity and my homeland will not change regardless of where I go, its my identity. I would strive to make sure my country is more developed in the future, even if I don't like how things are right now.
