as of right now every matchup for sanji feels underwhelming power and personality wise, only laffite has potential

It's a mismatch for Sanji and he won't grow from this. Assuming Oda thinks of Zoro, Sanji and Jinbe as Luffy's core fighters he must improve not stop/level down.

Since we didn't get confirmation that Kuzan is considered to be the 10th Titanic Captain maybe that character will be it.

Or by moving pieces up and down Luffy fights BB, Zoro fights Kuzan, and Sanji fights Shiryu. The problem with this one is that Kuzan is probably not a "Marine turned Pirate" but an agent.

Feels weird seeing Nami fight a male who looks like a rapist but eh there's like one female in the Blackbeard Pirates. Other match-ups seem fine to me, with Sanji could either fight Laffite or Pizaro.

If Sanji doesn't fight Lafitte then he'll fight Burgess (3rd strongest) while Lafitte fights 2 SH in 1v2
Kuzan is the BM of the arc, he can only lose to Luffy or a powerful ally who's above Wings.

It is a stupid position to be in indeed. I visit threads such as this to share my thoughts and move on. I don't have to agree with everyone so what did I do to get 2 people questioning what "I" am interested in? If they prefer Chopper vs Doc Q or Robin/Nami vs Devon, sure go ahead, I don't care.

I think Burgess goes to Sanji. He got the strength fruit, it's basically just an AP amp, similar to what CoC does, while he was a solid high tier already before he got it. If he would be a normal brawler it wouldn't be such a biggie, but his main arsenal consists out of powerful mid distance shockwaves:
Strength no mi + Surge Elbows and Galleon Lariats -> Nuking everyone out of the crew except the top3

Other than that, just my gut feeling:
- Jimbe vs San Juan
- Robn vs Vasco shot
- Franky vs Pizarro
- Nami vs Devon
- Brook vs Laffitte

Pizarros a better fight for jinbe than Sanji anyways.
