Who is this ''y'all'' you're talking about ? Have you read any theory regarding ZKK or interacted with three people and decided it's ''y'all'' ? Or maybe you got influenced by DoodleBob and Erkek and decided to run with it ?
Zoro is supposed to represent ''strength'' in the crew so surpassing Oden was a given, which he actually did btw; first by doing the same feat (ie giving Kaido a scar) and then by mastering Enma and destroying a Lunarian (supposed to be invincible).

Aah the good old days of peak ZKK fanfiction.
I remember arguing with Nik and HA some days longer than I'd like to admit.
At the start ZKK fans deluded themselves to think Zoro would fight Kaido while Luffy would fight Big Mom.
When the rooftop fight happened god it reached peak ZKK delusion but I was always saying the dragon Zoro would slay would be King who had the dragon dragon fruit and man... the amount of hate that got from the Zoro fans, was nearly as bad as the hate I got from some Sanji fans when I said he wouldn't fight King.
When Zoro was forced off the roof top by Luffy the meltdown was real the ZKK brigade then moved their goal posts to Zoro will defeat King then go back to rooftop lol. When it became obviously clear Luffy and Kaido would 1 v 1 then that's when the ZKK gang moved the goal posts again to Luffy will lose to Kaido who will then awaken and Zoro will finish the fight.
Finally their cope was Zoro would kill Kaido who was on 1hp.
It was actually a glorious time to be a One Piece fan. HA did an immediate rage quit for a few months and Nik doubled down. I still think to this day Nik is still waiting for ZKK to happen.

No. Since the OG concept of ZKK, stems from the fact Zoro would be upgrading himself by thoroughly cutting through Kaido. It wasn't as simple as killing Kaido. It was actually cutting Kaido up, something nobody has achieved in the series. It would've been a feat above Oden's. Nothing like Garling just stabbing through Xebec, a normal human with normal durability. Kaido's durability is remaining the same whether K.O'd or alive, due to his natural composition with the dragon scales.
There were different variations of how exactly that scenario would happen. With Luffy switching to BM to Luffy getting K.O'd but Kaido falling on top of the capital so Zoro has to slash him up, so on and so forth.
