This Road giant situation has shown me that Oda cannot write Assassination in this story. Everything has to be settled by an actual battle no matter what. If Road had actual malicious intent, he could have killed the entire crew

Oda actively ignores this in the story, ASSASSINATION

This is the second time fodder has used sleeping gas to completely knock out the strawhats

This is a PROVEN effective tool against Yonko level Luffy at all times in the story… Any scrub can acquire sleeping gas, toss it at the strawhats… and then toss the df users into the ocean and cut off the non DF user’s heads as they sleep

But this cannot even be considered because the logic of Oda’s power scale has to ignore that Assassination is a thing that can happen in his universe


Like I remember reading back in the day when people had theories about the Nurses who were giving Whitebeard his medicine putting poison in the IV bags to make Whitebeard sick… FUCKING IMPOSSIBLE... Not because it’s physically impossible… But because Oda’s writing logic would fall apart if the idea of beating strong characters without a fight was ever introduced into the story

it is the same reason why most world leaders are not assassinated. why was hitler not assassinated if a single bullet can kill him

There isn’t superpowers in the real world. There isn’t giant sleeping gas grenades in real world.

In the real world most of the methods of assassination are understood AND PREPARED FOR

That’s the important part… Oda can’t write a story where the threat of assassination is possible because that would require characters to PREPARE FOR IT and that’s literally impossible to do in the OP universe… Anything and I mean LITERALLY ANYTHING can be a threat… any random power any random person, any random object… It can’t be done (in Oda’s mind)… so Oda doesn’t do it

There is no cartoonish speeding gas like we saw in this recent chapter… sleeping gas in the real world can’t be used in an open area and it doesn’t act as fast as the cartoon sleeping gas in one piece

Missiles CAN BE PREPARED FOR… That’s what I’m saying… There are KNOWN WAYS of preparing for these things

there is no such thing in the OP universe. You can’t prepare for Blueno’s Door Door fruit or Brûlée’s mirror fruit or Sugar’s hobby fruit or Hancock’s horny fruit or Seastone that can apparently take out even Yonko or falling into the sea or DF poisoning

that last part, remember how we are told eating two df kills you… So you can basically kill any df user by just gassing them and feeding them a second df and done… anyway this won’t be done since Assassination isn’t allowed in this universe

You know what piece is supposed to be a funny manga, right ? Cartoon's gag are the point.

If Oda wants to write a dramatic assassination, he will not shy away. It's just not the point most of the time.

And yeah, the strawhats are humans, they are not invicible just because Luffy is strong. Luffy is not Kaido or BIg Mom.

The SHs were drunk and passed through naturally occurring sleeping mist

if someone actually tried to use sleeping gas on Luffy 1v1, Luffy would just predict it with FS and counter

It's too serious and too much planning for Oda's taste.

Not even the CP9 stuff during Water Seven arc, and Bege's assassination plan were serious assassination plots.

The CP9 could have easily murdered Iceburg without leaving a clue with their powers, especially Blueno's df, while Bege's plan to assassinate was not real assassination since assassins are supposed to not be seen and to face the least dangers and obstacles possible and use the most sure way to kill, which was nothing like Bege's plan.

Hitler had a lot of luck considering he survived multiple assassination attempts. In one of them the pure coincidence he was standing in front of the table leg saved his life from a bomb.

The moral of the story - the only people that can assassinate the strawhats are the strawhats themselves. In an Elbaf bunker.
