There are very people don't understand Asura and think zoro uses 9 swords, but this isn't correct in fact zoro makes 2 zoro more and then they are merging.

Let's see, Kaku stated that it was illusion with force of will so we have to assume it's illusions for now.

But we know will can manifest in physical ways like armament haki(like barriers). So Zoro might actually have 9 swords in asura, 6 being tangible illusions, we might have to wait till Zoro uses Asura for an extended period of time.
