Questions & Mysteries Awakened or not? Thats the question.

I'm leaning towards an awakened Kaidou to save the face of the other higher levels, imagine thinking that an unawakened Kaidou reigned in the world's top 1 for decades, that same world that exists other higher levels with awakened DF, would be so shameful for others.
The guy doesn't even need to wake up to be number 1, that says how weak the rest of the others are.

Even for those coping that having a bigger nose or bulkier arms is somehow awakening…how on earth could you be satisfied with that? Zoro can give himself bulkier arms at will.

Ushi also translates to cow, giraffe & cows are related, albeit not the closest. So Ushi is at least somewhat relevant to Kakus fruit, just like how Uo is probably relevant to Kaidos
That being said, I concede. I definitely still think Kaido evolved his fish form, akin to a Magikarp turning into Gyrados, rather than start as a dragon, but Gyrados did end up getting an “Awakened” form, so I prolly lose this one

Both kaido and yamato are awakened.
Kaido´s fruit is a dragon that throws flame, how tf would this dragon cover itself in magma without an awakening???
As for big mom, her base fruit power is concede souls to non living things therefore it makes perfect sense that her awakening is taking souls from living things.
Just like kid´s base power is turning himself into magnetic field while his awakening is turning someone else into a magnetic field.

Don't overthink it. Eastern dragons are way more related to fishes and similar aquatic creatures than to reptiles, unlike the Western ones; hence why Luffy first sees an eel in Momonosuke instead of a snake or Neptune's kingdom is Ryugu (obviously linked to the mythical Ryugu-jo palace to begin with). The Magikarp into Gyarados original myth is just one example of this fish nature of ryus, but also the most well-known and therefore the only one the fandom knows and keeps going back to in order to understand why Seiryu's fruit is in the Uo Uo.
"Uo" is relevant to Kaidou's because Eastern dragons are pretty much "uo". Simple as that.
