Banned and Udoned users

Sadly it's not so unusual an user gets banned or sent to Udon. My idea is pretty simple indeed, and maybe even a bit unnecessary since the staff seems pretty open to questions about banned or udoned user, but imo it would be fair to always know why users receive such punishments.

What i suggest is to create in a separate section a thread per banned/udoned user, updated after any infraction that results into a penalty, with a short description of what the user did, why that kind of decision was taken and how long the ban is going to last.

Meanwhile I'll pray for Ped-kun return:josad:

We are generally open to explain reasoning behind bans but making a section/thread just to explain each ban is unecessary.

These actions are between staff members and the user involved. By exposing the reasons in a public way is a form of condemnation and breaches the user's privacy. It can also encourage unescessary debate, drama or public shaming.

If you have a concern over a ban or if you think it was unjustified, you can always pm the staff team and ask. However, we are not required to share the reason with you as we usually have already discussed with the user involved and it is up to their discretion if they want others to be involved.

What if someone doesn't want the entire website to find out what they did? Your suggestion doesn't take the banned member's privacy into consideration. You're just publicly shaming them.
There is no need for a detailed description or to directly quote the messages, something like this where Pantheos explained what happened with Pedxi a while ago would be more than enough
Pedxi got banned for extremely insulting. He did it often before, we talked About it, but he never changed it. We Always deleted, we tried to call it out, find a better solution, but if he keeps resisting for month and just doing it again, there is some Point where we Need to act harsher than before. That is what happned. And no, it was Nothing About some baiting, it was straight up About insulting
Just to know what happened. In case something extremely serious happens, they might just be a bit more vague with the description.
What we actually know depends on their common sense anyway

People getting banned is something between the user and the team. You can always ask if you want to know if someone comes back, but we won’t pillorize people.

back then I told you about Pedxi because I got asked and there were a huge misunderstanding.

so, my main argument against making all bans public are some privacy from user side and not wanting to pillorize.

@Jackteo Don't get me wrong but I guess the purpose of this thread is because Pedxi was banned am I right?

I'm here only for 3 months now and it was enough to notice that he likes to call people: "bitch", "retard" and most recent one "fucking J**".

This is not a racist/homophobic forum.

People usually don't like to go into a conversation and expect to be called names am I right or no?

I could just ask a member of the staff what happened, i don't get how this thread would help ped or favour him in some way.

I see your reasons but i can't say I agree with you. Privacy issues for something posted in a public forum would not be my first thought.
Nonetheless i appreciate you were so fast bringing your opinions. Thank you

I partially agree to Jackteo's proposal. I don't need to know why X was banned, but it would be helpful to know if X was perma-banned or banned for Y duration.

But the reality of the situation is that declaring even that will cause uproar from one side or another.

Nah.

Let's not make it public even in the slightest.

Bans should stay between users and Mods and that's it.
