Because you can separate weekly enjoyment and how the arc is constructed as a whole. When you read it in its entirety, its definitely the most entertaining arc in terms of variety and chapter to chapter moments in my opinion
Yea but the worst weekly read of all time (like you agreed) beating out arcs like Water 7, Sabaody, Marineford, Arlong Park...hard to believe.

DR made me quit watching the anime
Lmfao same. I think an entire generation of OP fans quit the anime in Dressrosa. Unbearable weekly watch, especially knowing the weekly read was already unbearable, the anime pacing only made it that much worse. I haven't actually picked up the the anime since (only look for highlight eps).

I know people who dropped reading OP in Dressrosa too. Picked it up again once it ended, actually I stopped visiting forums, only came back when Kaidou chapter dropped.

I wouldn't wish weekly Dressrosa on my worst enemy.

Water 7 and Enies Lobby was the arc were you really felt the gravity of what the strawhats were up against, you also felt that feeling of dread. I think this period and everything that followed all the way to marineford was prime Oda.

Dressrosa had unnecessary bulk or it would have been right up there with the best arcs of One Piece, certainly has the best villain of One Piece.

Mofos at Toei would adapt only half of an already slow paced chapter. You’d have to be a total simp to still stick with the OP anime after that garbage. Imagine wasting your life watching Burgess laugh for 3 minutes straight

Facts, If Dressrosa were a 50 chapter arc instead of 100 chapters. We might have been looking at the best One Piece arc ever.

I think even Oda admits he fumbled Dressrosa.

Worst part about it too was the art and animation were also at an all time low.

Garbage content, 0.5 chapter per ep pacing on an already slow paced arc, garbage art, garbage animation.

Anime Dressrosa is the mvp of garbage.

Sagas:

Tier 1
Summit War >= Water 7
Tier 2
East Blue >= Skypiea ~ Alabasta
Tier 3
Current -pending
Tier 4
Dressrosa ~ Thriller Bark
Tier Trash
Fishman Island ~ Yonkou Saga (WCI + Wano sagas)

Arcs:

Sabaody > Arlong Park >= Water 7 >= Marineford > Jaya
East Blue over Skypeia and Alabasta is a bit of a hot take

I didn't really enjoy anything before Baratie tbh

Question is, is Egghead shaping up to be a top tier arc? Really enjoyed the world developments away from Egghead more than Egghead itself - so far.

Baratie, Arlong Park, Loguetown are more than enough to carry anyway. That's b2b2b S tier arcs.
That's fair

I prefer the shorter Alabasta arcs over the first few EB arcs, and I prefer the proper arc over the last few arcs personally.

Also Jaya was a really nice arc. Introduced so many characters.

My breakdown of the sagas

Arlong Park >> Jaya > Baratie > Albasta > Skypiea > Whiskey Peak > Syrup Village > Drum Island > Loguetown > Little Garden > Orange Town > Reverse Mountain > Romance Dawn

Alabasta Saga = 117 chapters
East Blue Saga = 100 chapters
Skypeia Saga = 85 chapters

My favorite villain is Rob Lucci my favorite arc is marinford or summit war arc

Simply because it was shown the next level of abilities OP headed too

As a saga alabasta is undefeated to me,every arc is one piece af and one piece at its best, ridiculously funny and interesting and its also the point where the main plot and worldbuilding begin

As an arc,i think enies lobby is one of the greatest arcs in manga history,mf is a close second

Dressrosa was great, but my favorite was skypeia.

Watching luffy prove his superiority as captain while the rest of the crew got negged was amazing.
His superiority as captain has nothing to do with him not getting fried up in skypiea,go reread, especially since you claim its your favourite arc

Honestly,Dressrosa and post dressrosa pacing is the reason i dont suggest One Piece to people who wont/cant read the manga anymore,a shame honestly, death to toei
