The thing that Zoro’s character misses from his peak in pre-skip is funny moments. Off the top of my head the last really funny moment with Zoro was the scene where they accidentally took Neptune hostage, he’s insulting Sanji, Brook is keeled over laughing, Nami’s cheerfully using it as an excuse for extortion and Usopp’s having a full blown panic attack.

After that you’ll still get great fighting moments, you’ll get good “Zoro takes this shit serious moments”, the general badass stuff, but the little sparks of humour (even if the humour is from him being deadpan/a moron/a dick), I can’t really recall. Just an over-reliance of the getting lost and hating Sanji gags.

It’s not the “he doesn’t smile” complaints, he smiles plenty. It’s the humour that’s been lost

It is a great moment, but also completed his character arc halfway into the story. Which is unfortunate, because now Zoro is just.......there.......aura farming
Might have to do with Oda stretching this manga infinitely. Just like he admitted to introducing Crocodile too early. With reasonable pacing this manga would have been completed a decade ago, placing this pivotal moment of Zoro's character arc closer towards the end.

My problem with the "Nothing Happened" moment isn't that Zoro was willing to sacrifice himself and his dream for Luffy, but that he made remarks of Luffy being more important than every other Straw Hat combined, and Zoro undermined his own dream for Luffy's dream. Everyone on the Straw Hats pretty much claimed that their lives are less important than a man's fucking dream, which I can't respect at all. And Luffy will never be put in a spot to give that same energy back to the crew. Oda will never make Luffy claim the either himself or his dream is less important than any other's dream. Of course he'll risk his dream and life for his friends' lives, but the same can't be said for their dreams.

Will all of this in mind, I came to the realization that the Straw Hats aren't a friend group, but a cult where they give up their individuality for Luffy's sake, which is rather unfortunate.

I never have a problem with him he is peak every arc even if he has brief moments they are always iconic the difference between post TS and pre is that his moments are subtle and brief so it's hard to notice
The only problem imo is that he has become too serious post TS but for the rest he is goated
