Yeah absolutely. Its far more realistic and thus grounded, believable. Nothing like the heavily sanitised experience we got with the 4Kids anime ofc or even the games too. It's hilariously crazy and ironic that we can compare Pokemon to stuff like AOT and The Walking Dead for example or just any bloody, violent anime or series ofc. Really lives up to the name "pocket monstes" too.
The fact humans die in it too as you said is even wilder, I'm morbidly curious to check this out now. There's a lot of potential for emotional nuance and thus gravitas with this if its handled right. Emphasis on if lol.
Makes the whole existence and thus story of Lavender Town all the more appropriate too naturally. And Mewtwo being bred/engineered as the ultimate weapon and such.
