Best Movie (2023)

With award season kicking things off, the Golden Globes happening this sunday and the Oscars coming later in a few months (with nominations at the end of the month).

I thought about making a simple thread to ask everyone their favorite movies released this year.

I will be making a poll based on the most nominated and beloved movies by the critics, but feel free to share your favorite movies released this year in the thread.​

Elemental was awesome reminded me of the game fireboy and water girl. Great animation good story and stellar voice acting

Anatomy of a fall was really great, likely the best I saw this year

but Spiderman was really amazing and groundbreaking for me animation wise so voting for it

Édit : Thé Fabelmans was released in February 2023 so it counts, and it was the best movie of 2023 for me

From the list I have seen Past Lives , Godzilla, Saltburn, American Fiction, May December, Anatomy of a fall, Barbie, Oppenheimer, Killers of the Flower Moon, and Past Lives is the best imo.
Might change if I see something else on the list.

In retrospect, at least judging from how I love his other movies, I think Nuri Bilge Ceylan's About Dry Grasses will be favorite of 2023.

but it's pretty much nominated for everything in every category in all awards shows

just like Oppenheimer

so it's taking home some of it, for sure
