FIRST FIGHT

The Eclipse - Berserk
This panel is from the manga Berserk. It is from chapter 73 titled the Eclipse. It features Griffith, one of the main characters of the manga, commencing the Eclipse.

Griffith is an ambitious person. He was born poor and he wanted to be a king. He wanted to be loved by everyone, and he was a great leader who was charismatic. He genuinely cared for his army, and was willing to sleep with other ugly kings to get extra money instead of forcing his army to do pointless battles.

Ever since Guts first met Griffith, he noted an odd little pendant that Griffith always wore. This was no ordinary jewelry -- he had a small but potent behelit about his neck, an egg-shaped device that would one day alter the course of both men's lives forever. Guts thought little of it at the time, but Griffith held that behelit dear, and it later became the key to his incredible ambitions.

Eventually, a frustrated Griffith betrayed the Midland king and ended up in the dungeon, where his behelit fell into a sewer drain. But this was not the end. Griffith was destined to join the fearsome God Hand, and even after he lost the behelit, he saw a vision of the four current God Hand members calling to him through a tiny portal. Guts and Casca rescued Griffith, and in an open plain he recovered his behelit, known as the "egg of the king." Sure enough, this egg would soon hatch as Griffith's destiny emerged. After a year of torture, Guts find Griffith and it is revealed that Griffith was tortured pretty bad.

Basically, the torture skinned him, boiled him, cut off his tongue and muscle tendons to the point where Griffith cant even hold a sword properly or even move, and ate part of his body. Due to this Griffith sees himself as pathetic and starts going insane and tries to commit suicide but fails. However, this leads him to meet with Demons and they offer him a choice: He can become a demigod in exchange for sacrificing his army.

Griffith exposed the egg of the king to some blood and held it up as the world's fated eclipse began. This was a historic moment in the making in Berserk, and Guts and the others could only watch in horror as countless monsters approached from the horizon. Then, a great whirlwind descended to trap everyone inside a nightmarish alternate dimension, and the four God Hand members arrived to get the process started. They explained the basics to Griffith, then urged him to view his fellow mercenaries and declare "sacrifice." Griffith did so, and everyone received the brand of sacrifice somewhere on their bodies.

One by one, the Band of the Hawk members were devoured, save for Guts, Casca and the timid Rickert, while Griffith was enveloped inside a transparent egg. He emerged reborn as Femto, a humanoid being with a black, falcon-like helmet and wing-like arms. Griffith/Femto was now the fifth and final member of the God Hand and exploited the helpless Casca in unspeakable ways until the Skull Knight arrived and rescued both Casca and Guts. The maelstrom finally withdrew as Nosferatu Zodd watched from outside, and Femto vanished with the other four God Hand members.
The art is marvelous and the scene is a turning point in manga history.

As the Rain Falls, the "Happy Paths" Are Chosen - Look Back
The manga is about a story of Friendship between two girls who dream of being manga artist and the tragedy in it. its started when a 4th grader, with the name Fujino (the girl on the panel) get complimented by her peers with her amateur drawing on Week's School newspaper. At that time she act so smug on it and not thinking of becoming Manga artist because it was lazy to always sit on desk. she even roast other student, who are a Truant that tried to draw a Manga. But all of that gets shattered when the work of the same Truant that she roast, is published side by side with hers, Showing the Vast Differences in their work. Even by her own peers that at first praised her said "Fujino artwork are totally Average than Truant's artwork". Upon Realising that, Fujino learn how to impoving her art with learning from the books, and practices every single day knowing that the Truant not coming to school because practice art everyday.

Fujino now is a 6th Grader. She keep trying to improve her art all just for her own ego to had her art better than the Truant. But Reality hits her hard. On the Newest Week's School newspaper, Her art doesn't improved much than the Truant's art. Knowing that She Gave up. She Stop Drawing and loses her interest until she graduate from her school.

She then gets an opportunity to meet the Truant named Kyomoto because her teacher asked her to deliver Kyomoto's Graduation certificate. Fujino then goes to Kyomoto's house
and had her own "manga strips" about Kyomoto. Because of her weak handgrip, the manga strips slips under Kyomoto's closed Door. the manga strips were shown, that people encouraging Kyomoto to come out of her room and if not, she will rotten to skull. it makes her embarassed and tried to leave Kyomoto's house. It's only then, that Kyomoto leaves her room for the first time to encounter Fujino.

When they Meet, Kyomoto immediately asks for an autograph as she's an enormous fan of Fujino's work. Of all the people who have read her manga, Kyomoto is the only one who has read Fujino's stories every week and missed her when she stopped putting them out in 6th grade. The truant that she once mock is a fan of her work. Really an irony.

When Kyomoto asking Fujino why she stop at 6th grade. Fujino Lied and said that she coming up with a story to submit for manga award. Kyomoto then Gets Excited and told fujino that she wanna see her work very badly. Fujino then told Kyomoto that she will show it later if it's done. Kyomoto's very happy hearing that.

As the Rain has started to fall, Fujino Leaves Kyomoto's house. On the way to home, Fujino Is Very Happy with the encounter that she just had as she Dance happily and seems not care with the rain. (as seen on the panel)

But Why is the Rainfall start to pouring out when Fujino is happy? Does it Symbolise something? What's gonna Led after this Fate Encounter? And how is Fujino and Kyomoto's Relationships Gonna be? You will know the Answer once u start Reading this Manga.
The reason why i pick this Panel:
I feel happy when i see this panel. Altho it does seem Happy, i kinda feels Sad when the Rainfall starts pouring out when Fujino is Happy. Knowing what Rainfall meaning on film or movies (this is before knowing the "events" that happen later on this One Shot). i kinda knew whats gonna happen next.

the interactions with Fujino and Kyomoto's is really Wholesome before this panel. And There is a part when Fujino were asked about somethings that might hurt her mentality (it does kinda hurt in Irl too) but i'am not including that becuase thats like a full summary Lol. To me, This panel is perfect for showing emotions after what happening at the start. And it can also imply whats gonna happen on the next part.

So i like Tatsuki Fujimoto Sensei idea about why he Choose to draw this panel.

SECOND FIGHT

Ichigo's Reiatsu - Bleach
This panel is from Bleach. It is a panel of Ichigo's Reiatsu after attaining his true power. The details that Kubo added were awesome. It is such a badass panel and scene. It left everyone shocked. The coloring is perfect as well. Really shows off Bleach's great art.

VS

Irate in Victory - Vagabond
Shinmen Takezo is surrounded by corpses after a battle, yet his thirst for blood is not satiated. What at first seems as relief of a man who survived, is actually the disappointment of a man who didn't find what he was looking for amidst the carnage. The focus is put on the sky as well as the carnage, which can point towards Takezo's wish of finding his thrill reaching the heavens.
From an artistic point of view it is hard to find any fault in Inoue's art - it's detailed, proportionate, and conveys a great deal of emotion and beauty; a rare combination in this medium.

THIRD FIGHT

I Alone Am the Honoured One - Jujutsu Kaisen
The panel above is from the manga Jujutsu Kaisen. It features the strongest character in the manga, the GOAT himself, Satoru Gojo.

The panel is from his second fight with Fushiguro Toji. It showcases Gojo's awakening. Him transcending the limits and reaching unprecedented levels.

This is Gojo high on power, everything simply feels right at the moment. Earlier in the fight Toji laments to himself that Gojo is rambling on and on and wonders if he is perhaps delirious or high. But the truth is, Gojo has reached enlightenment.

The concept of enlightenment is deep embedded in a lot of spiritual teachings. Especially in Buddhism, it mainly regarded as bodhi, which is the awakening and understanding of perfect knowledge. In JJK, deep understanding of curse energy and the awareness over it seems to contribute to the growth of a Jujutsu Sorcerer.

The current Bodhisattva and enlightened one in the universe of JJK. Not only does his name literally mean enlightenment (ζ‚Ÿ = satoru), but he is also alluded as Shakyamuni.

The panel vividly depicts Gojo as the honoured one.

Gojo is an anomaly, just like Shakyamuni when he was born. His birth caused the world to change. On top of that he achieves an enlightenment, in which he is drawn like the birth of Shakyamuni; one hand pointing to heaven, the other to earth and speaks the words β€œAbove heaven under heaven, I alone am the honoured one”.

His enlightenment occurred during his fight against Toji as mentioned, when Gojo was on the verge of death. His awakening over the true nature of cursed energy enabled him to not only use cursed technique, but also reverse cursed technique and heal himself. This cemented his position as simply the strongest - an allusion to the one who will be able to reach nirvana.

The importance of this in relation of a Jujutsu Sorcerer's ability is that before reaching a certain point where one is strong enough to defeat their cruel enemy, the path of a Jujutsu Sorcerer is essentially suffering. To be released from this suffering is to reach enlightenment. And for a Jujutsu Sorcerer to reach that point is to gain a certain level of understanding and awareness over the mystery of cursed energy.

And after his enlightenment, he turns to be a teacher, just like Shakyamuni who preach dharma to assist other in reaching liberation. Gojo cares and helps other sorcerers growing strong, as to free them from their sufferings.

The impact of this panel is immense. Not only is it artistically pleasing, some of Gege's best art in my opinion, but it perfectly and vividly illustrates Gojo's awakening.
It lucidly showcases Gojo reaching the levels of a calamity and unleashing his power. Ever since the first time I saw this panel it stuck with me completely.

In order to completely understand why this moment was impactful I'll have to go more into the depths of Gojo's character.

Gojo is a character who defines the series instead of being defined by it, he introduces Yuji to Jujutsu Sorcery and much of the stories exposition comes through him, creating a relatively static character who has surprising depth in his position.

At times Gojo feels more like an event or a force of nature than a character. All of the curses plans revolve around on what they can do before Gojo intervenes and for much of the early story his intervention resolves the issue.

Through his flashback we come to understand how Gojo came to be like this.

Despite being a prodigal youth and immensely strong he is utterly defeated at the hands of Toji and loses the one thing he was tasked to protect. This is when we get the panel above. Gojo reached the ultimate stage. He awakens. He transcends it all and reaches the peak. Some would say he has a God complex, but it's only natural. He has reached that level.

This panel is simply amazing, with the drawing of Gojo and the phrase he utters.

A Fresh Start - A Silent Voice
Shoya and his friends were very rowdy and boyish when they were young, taking fun in wrestling and mischief. When a new kid joins their class, a deaf girl named Shoko, Shoya and his classmates find her deafness weird and bully her for it, with Shoya as the main instigator. Eventually, Shoko leaves the school after having 8 hearing aids broken (summing up to 1.7mil yen), and all of the blame is placed solely on Shoya, becoming ostracized by his friends, classmates, and even teacher, and labeled as a β€œbad person” for nearly 17 years.

All those years later, and after a failed suicide attempt, Shoya decides to seek out Shoko to make amends, under the guise of returning an old notebook that Shoko used to communicate with her peers. Filled with remorse and self-hatred, he finds her at a sign language club, returning the book and revealing that he himself has studied sign language. Shoya proposes friendship the same way she did when they were kids as both a means of showing her that he wants to understand her world, and offering a fresh start to their relationship.

FOURTH FIGHT

God's Arrival - One Punch Man
GOD arrival was insane in the OPM manga.
He was named before, seen partially, but was still a complete mystery. All we knew is that Blast was fighting against him and he was the big bad of the verse.

And then Murata reveled him : but not in a classic way : with a color page!
The impact was much greater ! In a universe of black and white manga the color page was stunning. And Murata art is as always top tier.

And other thing why this page was amazing : the movement : GOD didn’t appear in a random place : the guy appeared on the freaking Moon (the one Saitama broke against Boros). And the guy was biggggg, he was as big as the moon itself, standing on top of it.

But one of the most impressive thing in this panel is movement :

3 cases : the hand, the arm and then whole body.
In this panel we can clearly feel the movement of GOD, how he was in the shadow lurking, and then bit by bit revealing himself climbing on top of the Moon and threatening the earth with all his might.

There are maybe more beautiful panels or better drawn but this one was done flawlessly and the art of suspense and movement was amazing. And the color add a peculiar feeling. A grandiose je ne sais quoi.

The Pinnacle of Tenacity- Kengan Ashura
Background-
A beast more often than man, Ohma has survived all his life through instincts, perseverance and his own two fists.

Akin to a wild animal, he lived as a predator brute forcing his way into the world and not caring for anything or anyone. He lived and thrived on his own terms, showing no emotion other than untamed anger.

As the series progresses however, he learns how to care, he learns how to show hints of compassion, and he learns how to be more human, while still having that fire in his heart. That relentless drive.

This near climatic scene just captures all of Ohma's journey perfectly and alongside his duality. A man, a beast, and relentless perseverance. He fights because that's all he knows, he struggles because that's all he knows, but now he does both also; for a mentor and others who have somehow become people who are worth caring for.

Thus, a man forms a fist once more taking on more burden than ever.

Aesthetics wise-
- Perfectly detailed to put focus on what he wants to. I.e. the fingers, fist, energy.
- Godtier shading.
- You can precieve the kinetic energy and the enormous effort put in by Ohma.
- Whited out fist increases the impact and highlights that feature.
- Sheer look of grit and determination on his face while on his death bed. The absoulte strain you can feel from the grunt and tension in his jaw, backed up by his laser eye focus.
- His own blood and his opponents flying off of him in waves.
-The narration building up to and in this scene.

:steef:

The absolute Peak. Immaculate.

FIFTH FIGHT

Allen Walker's Final Destination - D.Gray Man
Allen Walker woke up in a mysterious realm after his fight against Tyki. He was on the verge of death and this is his spiritual realm and final destination. The sea is reflecting the destroyed Black Order which is Allen's organisation and home. Maybe it’s a future scenario…

Guts and Zodd vs. Ganishka - Berserk
This particular Scene is from Volume 32 of Berserk. This is one of my my most favourite double page spreads and is one of the most iconic scenes In the story as it depicts rivals Guts and Zod putting aside their differences to team up against Ganishka, The Emperor of the Kushan Empire

you can't compare Bleach with Vagabond lmao.

Also the Fresh Start one probably makes more sense in context.
Vagabond is like a black and white picture book of a samurai movie. That's how great and realistic the art is.

Bleach is clean af, but there are better panels to illustrate it than that one. Not knocking the person who's choice that is, we all have our favorites
