Arbiter from Halo​

Arbiter or his real name Thel Vadme, is a supporting Character from the HALO video game Franchise, He was first introduced in Halo 2 back in 2004 voiced by the legendary Keith David and still is voiced by him. Thel was initially met with some backlash due to the Game baiting and switching the player by having us play as both Master Chief and the Arbiter respectively. Over time however The Arbiter has quickly become a fan favorite of the franchise and arguably its best written character.

Thel was a member of the Sangheeli species who were part of the Covenant. The Covenant were an alliance of alien species who were brought together by a species called the San'Shyuum to wage a religious genocidal galactic war against Humanity. The San'Shyuum were highly revered in the covenant as their religious leaders and three San'Shyuum in particular were called "Prophets" they were called "Truth", "Regret" and "Mercy"

Thel's story truly begins in Halo 2 and the majority of Halo fans would agree that Halo 2 is Thel's story/game and his arc in both Halo 2 and Halo 3 is one of lost honor and redemption is doing the right thing. We are introduced to him covered in his Gold armor as he was at the time the Supreme commander of the "Fleet of Particular Justice"

The Prophets of Truth, Mercy and Regret admonish him for Failing to protect Halo from being destroyed by the Master chief in the first game.

They decide to strip him of his rank entirely and make an example of him in front of the entire population of "High charity" (High charity is the covenant holy capital, it is a mobile space city that travels with its own defense fleet). Thel however does not beg for mercy even after being dishonored and instead holds true to his pride and takes the humiliation of bearing the mark of shame.
When we are next introduced to Thel he is being dragged out of the prison cells to the "Mausoleum of the Arbiter" where the High Prophets have a proposal for him. I would highly recommend watching it below as it does a great job of summing up his shame but also what the Arbiter represents.

Thel takes on the mantle of the "Arbiter" and goes out on various nigh impossible/suicide missions for the prophets in an attempt to die with honor. However on his last mission him and his entire species are betrayed by the prophets who decide to replace his species the "Sangheeli" with a new species the "Jirlahne". This leads to a massive civil war within the covenant and is the trigger event for the covenant's final defeat.

Through a series of circumstances Thel gets captured by the "Gravemind" (an eldritch plague like abomination) and is finally told what the true purpose of the "Halo" rings are. Having just had his people betrayed by the san'shyuum and learning that their entire religion was a built upon the promise of a lie which led to an unnecessary 28 year long genocidal campaign against humanity which led to 23 billion human lives being lost, Thel finally decided to forgo his pride and lead his people to team up with Humanity in an attempt to stop the Covenant.

After the events of Halo 2 and moving onto the events of Halo 3 Thel and the Sangheeli formed an alliance with humanity and assisted them in trying to stop The prophet of Truth and the remaing covenant from reaching the "Ark" where they could fire all seven Halo rings at once thus eradicating all life within the galaxy. Thel wanted to not only atone for him and his people's actions in the war against humanity but he also wanted vengeance on the Prophet of Truth who was the mastermind behind the betrayal of his species and the centuries of lies him and his people were led to believe.


Thel over the course of the games and novel's gains respect and admiration for Humanity especially for the Master chief as they become brothers in arms to the point where he willingly went into a Flood infested "High Charity" on his own to make sure both Master chief and Cortana make it out alive and then he accompanied them to activate the newly built Halo ring to make sure the war truly ended. Thel and Chief stopping "Truth" and the "Flood" which saved trillions of lives across the galaxy

Post war Thel had become the leader of his people and continued to foster good relations with humanity to the point where now Thel is widely regarded as the most important political figure in the universe of Halo and is a symbol of what the galaxy could one day become if people were willing to change and better themselves.

rwin is without a doubt one of the greatest characters in Attack on Titan, if not THE greatest.Erwin exhibits things that a lot of characters don't: he is realistic, sympathetic, badass, brave, and a smart and capable leader. He isn't just said by other characters to possess such qualities; he actually demonstrates them. His backstory is short, yet very great at explaining his motivations and goals. He's a badass, but he's not emotionless.He has been part of many iconic moments, and despite being a "supporting" character, he constantly steals the spotlight every moment he's on screen.

In a series with massively popular characters like Eren, Mikasa, and Levi, Erwin shines brightly, arguably the greatest character in the series and one of the best across all mediums of literature and entertainment.

Shinzou Wo Sasageyo! A more accurate translation would be "Dedicate your hearts!"
