When Aokiji got impaled by Whitebeard who did use haki in that moment, Aokiji said “That was close!” which makes me think that was FS. Even if his reaction speed were good, we can’t be sure that Aokiji would be fast enough to transform his Logia body so he wouldn’t get hit by Whitebeard’s haki. Another case like when Marco and Vista attacked Akainu with haki, the attacks went through his body. So I think FS is necessarily to shapeshift your body to avoid haki attacks. That’s just my opinion though.
