Teach was weird before he ate his alleged first DF so chances are the Yami Yami is not his first one. And since he's aging he's not whatever the Gorosei are (in case they're not just Ope Ope products).
I think the Octopus DF or Cerberus as initial DF are still the most likely outcomings. Cerberus the most likely as each one of their heads sleep in shifts so the main body never does.

Also thinking about it a big issue with Blackbeard is he takes a ton of unnecessary hits head on. The problem is he isn’t like Linlin/kaido that can just casually tank attacks with raw durability and be unscathed most the time. Not like luffy/shanks who have advanced haki to help stop/avoid attacks from hitting them head on
He like luffy doesn’t even use a weapon to help block/tank attacks. Which is kinda weird because we know he has the claws but idk what’s up with that
Still I think a fruit mirroring or countering fs would be very fitting. He needs a fruit that helps him stop taking unnecessary damage
