I mean Oda could retconned Yami into a "Zoan" category but what's the build-up behind that?

What creature could represent "Darkness" itself? I personally don't see it.

How is this even a problem...when we have nika / oda can make another such thing

Like Luffy he already has a powerful mythical Zoan(the darkness fruit)
He has a powerful possibly the most powerful Paramecia(Earthquake fruit)
all that's left is a powerful Logia.

I know what your saying he already has a Logia and doesn't have a zoan ability. But he's Luffy's biggest rival and has a similar DF. If he was a Logia abilities would pass through him. the devil fruit encyclopedia said it was a logia but it's not. If I was a person with a powerful devil fruit(kizari...Aokiji...Akainu) I would be careful if I were you.

I hope @Blackbeard has a Cerberus mythical Zoan, because his Logia is already Yami.

Yami trades its intangibility for the ability to nullify devil fruits. That's a worth trade off imo.

Khalifa's devil fruit not only nullifys devil fruits but a persons entire body. Nullifying devil friuits isn't a good trade off for intangibilty. Especially when Haki remains king. All Zoans turn you into an animal, all Paramecia give you superpowers and all Logia's turn you into a force of nature and make you intangible. The only exception to that is Luffy who throughout his 10+ years of having it didn't really turn him into an animal shounen logic says its a good chance his main adversary has the same exception especially when his fruit doesn't work compared to every other fruit out there. He's not intangible because he's not a logia. His fruit just looks like it produces logia abilities because it hasn't awakened.

I mean his fruit I think he said was the most dangerous or something like that and Luffy's fruit was said to be the most outrageous.. I'm to lazy to look up the exact words but the parallel is there. I mean shanks literally went to Whitbeards ship to discuss Teach. He gave me a scar and it's not like I was being careless. Shanks wouldn't be worried about a man who can take devil fruits powers away since he doesn't have a df and as far as we know nobody on his crew has one. I'm not stating that he has a Zoan already as fact but Blackbeard literally said his devil fruit chose him. The same as Luffy's when the goursei they have been looking for the nika nika fruit for ages but it alludes them as if it had a mind of its own.

The devil fruit choosing it's owner I don't know if it was stated as a trait of a Zoan but that makes sense. Nika fruit is said to put smiles on people's faces and who has taken away more smiles than anybody... akainu... I mean blackeoard. even if we look at it like a crazy conspiracy some devil fruits are called smiles so by a twist of words Blackbeard can take away people's smiles or dreams. Storywise this is the best fit narrative or we can just look at it as Blackbeard has a Logia that doesn't make him intangible which storywise is an inconsistency. I've proven my point but you guys believe what you want.
