so who do think is bb top 3 are?

my take:
the top 3 are shiryuu, laffite and avalo pizaro

shiryuu: self explanatory nothing much to say

laffite: he was able to sneak in the marie jois without being noticed while he was surrounded by warlords, marine, cipher pol and a fleet admiral

avalo pizaro: he was the only one that wasn't wearing prison clothes so the marines provided a criminal that is deleted from history with clothes it seems weird that the marines would do that and he immediately wanted to take over as captain so he has balls and i don't think he's just being arrogant

Shiryuu #1 for sure.

After that it's a toss up between the following:

- Laffitte = Chief of Staff of the Blackbeard Pirates, was the most relevant BB pirate pre-TS other than Teach and Shiryuu.
- Corrupt King
- Devon = Possesses a mythical fruit, already was a legendary pirate while still being in her prime at the age of 34 lol.
- Vasco

Hard to say which one of these will be #2 or #3. But I'd pick Shiryuu, Laffitte, Corrupt King as the top 3 for now.

So far only Shiryu and Jesus stood out somewhat. Yet Burgess got trashed by Sabo and if on one hand it hyped Sabo on the other trashed Burgess so it is difficult to say if he is in the top 3. Also during the intial moments of the fight with Ace when everybody tried to fight him no BB pirate was flashed out so maybe the originals are on the same level (yet Oda later sent Burgess to Dressrosa and not other people, maybe have Sabo beat doc Q, Lafitte or Van Augur in a coliseum fight didn't make much sense while Burgess was good for the role?).

Shiryu
Avalo Pizarro
Burgess (with devil fruit powerup)

As the Samurai themed Swordsman/North Blue royalty/Helmsman of the crew they should be fighting the strong trio (Zoro/Sanji/Jinbe). So i pick them until we get more information later.

Laffitte is very loyal to Teach and holds a powerful position in the crew (Chief of Staff) but his hypnosis abilities are suitable for infiltrations more than 1v1 fights, and he's also the navigator, chances for Nami to beat him are high. So it's extremely unlikely for Laffitte to be one of the top 3.

i think brook would fight laffite and nami would fight devon as she always fights the female

Not really sure where all the Burgess overrating started, maybe cause he got used as a punching bag by Sabo at Dressrosa? Who knows. But dude was pretty much irrelevant pre-TS, and had the lowest bounty out of the first generation of members. Then Teach goes on to recruit pirates who are already legendary with some of them being young in their early 30s. Those people are also attaining powerful Devil Fruits, which will be boosting their prowess to another level as well. At this point dude is looking like the weakest member of the Blackbeard Titanic Captains, probably will remain so even by the final war.

burgess was the least impressive in the original crew van augur is an awesome sniper laffite is a mystery man and doc Q is weird and burgess was just normal and with lvl 6 prisoners he stands no chance the only reason is because he's the captain of the first ship

Hopefully there's more to it. The only other explanation I've read about is him being close to Blackbeard or something.
