Bonney is the best connection to Luffy and Dragon. Funny to say that when we have Robin that spent 2 years with Revos not sure if she ever met Dragon.

Just an ally like Law or Bege

She can't be an ally to Emperor Luffy. Maybe a friend or an allied captain under Luffy. Luffy is too huge to be entering into an with washed out captain with a bounty lower than Nami.
It'll be interesting though to see what she brings to the story.
