He will get away with it. Oda once said that Buggy is his favorite character besides the SHs. this was early on in the series but it means that Buggy's endgame role has been planned since the beginning. Just like Usopp got a statue in Skypiea and is worshipped as a God by the coliseum fighters of Dressrosa and nobody found out that it's all based on lies. Even after they defeated Arlong it was Usopp that bragged about his victory over Arlong in front of the villagers.
There is a pattern: Usopp tells stories and lies and is a good artist, both Buggy and Usopp are frauds, Buggy made it to the top and gathered innumerable followers through his luck and fraudulent exploitation of said luck; there is only one explanation: Buggy and to some degree Usopp are Oda's self inserts. Oda himself is a massive troll, fraud and people kiss the ground he walks on, Loda just rides the waves and doesn't say anything that might make people realize that he really is just an average guy with low self esteem that got lucky and was in the right place at the right time and got propped up by the right people (his editors and Shueisha).

Hell, both of the most impressive gun play moments have come from Usopp, IMO; man was sniping Spandam from the Tower of Justice with a GIANT SLINGSHOT.

Even the average people in One Piece are absolute weirdos

This doesn't contradict what I said 🤔 and I saw the bathroom video before. I also saw some of his house incl a mini train and life sized giraffe statue. Ofc rue guy is not normal 🤣he's like those crazy artist types
