I think their last fighting encounter was probably either imbued by PIS or saw them not clashing too seriously because Roger was supposed to be consistently nerfed and the notion the fought on equal ground did never convince me a single bit.

I would place Primebeard close to Prime Roger according to that reasoning but I'm not Oda so all is possible.

The reasoning is based on Buggy who was very little 26 years ago 13 or so
We know Oda joined 30 years ago
Buggy was 30 years ago 7 years old and they didn't met with WBP yet

So based in Buggy sick Roger=Primebeard if you ask me

he did, he fought roger in his prime and literally had an adCoC clash + in chapter 0 crocous said roger was still in prime condition, when buggy tried to stop roger fighting shiki
