Here is a great moment with Sanji being a literal Co-Captain in front of Luffy and the crew, indeed. He explained the situation with logical arguments and managed to support Luffy's point of view at once, despite that Jinbei kept disagreeing with Sanji and Luffy.

And i find the most funny that Sanji haters usually make such a big deal out of Sanji's comic scene asking Jinbei to comit Seppuku because he got pissed after thinking about everything Nami went through because of Arlong

But they "curiously" ignore everything else that Sanji said during that arc and his opinions and values, i mean, during the whole manga tbh

Yh this is a big scene when it comes to Sanji's position within the crew. Literally Sanji gave the speech of saving FI.
