Many want Enel to return to the main story. He will, but not by coming down. God won't descend to where the mere mortals live. The Strawhats need to come to him. Not to fight again though, they'll bring Urouge to do that. The crew will face Caribou and Jupeter.

Caribou prayed to a God, when he was killing marines on Sabaody. The Five Elders refer to Imu as creator of the world. Not that Caribou will know to whom he is really praying to. Mister 3 didn't know who Mister 0 actually was. Perhaps Imu made contact with Caribou through unusual means. They both have ringed eyes. That has to mean something. Saturn can make heads explode with his gaze. Imu's supernatural powers ought to be even greater. Telepathic snails exist, perhaps telepathic kings too. People who hear voices are put into mental hospitals. Caribou wears a straight jacket, like a mad man that had to be restrained.

The roman God Jupiter throws lightning like Enel. Being responsible for Agriculture links Jupeter to religion, and to the Moon. Dr. Tsukimi, from Enel's coverstory, is named after festivals honoring the autumn moon, to celebrate the harvest. Many of the prayers in history have been for a good harvest. In the past, people would sacrifice animals and even humans for it. Farming and religion were closely linked.
Jupeter's family name is Shepherd. That is a common analogy for priests. Jesus called himself the good shepherd. Being a priest explains why he doesn't wear a tie. Ju is written in a kanji that looks like the christian Cross. Saint Jupeter also evokes Saint Peter, one of Jesus' apostels and the first pope.

Enel went to the Moon because he heard that god resides there. When Luffy's Devilfruit was revealed to be a Godfruit, it became predictable that Luffy would follow Enel up there. Many godly people will. A God's Knight, mad prophet Caribou, Mad Monk Urouge, Cloud Zeus, Sungod Nika, Warriorgod Jupeter, God Enel and God Usopp will all be gathered for a godly summit on Fairy Vearth.
