Perhaps its not the best Logia, but it is still a Logia. With great utility also. The Blackbeard Pirates would kill, and not recruit, him. Combatwise, he is nothing without his fruit. BBP could just give it the DF to someone less creepy. Caribou talks to some kind of god when he kills. I believe Imu somehow made contact with him. Maybe through telepathy. They have the same eyes. Not that Caribou is fully aware who that god is.
