I had forgotten all about this plot thread but as I was rereading the end of Wano I stumbled upon it and physically cringed.

As if there is nobody else more qualified in Zhou to take up the mantle, nah bro. It has to be this teenage rabbit, surely she has the experience and mettle necessary to lead her people.

Carrot should have founded the New Nox Pirates and become the 8th division commander of the SHGF. She also should have defeated Perospero instead of getting offscreened and having Neko steal all her spotlight. Loda dropped the ball hard with Carrot

Yeah, there was no point in making her loose her fight against Perospero.

The moral of this fight was "whatever you try, it fails" and we had flashback of Pedro saying to Carrot "your time will come" her time never happened, that's fucking sad. I would've killed myself in her place.

Pretty sure that Oda planned for Carrot to make a comeback and beat Pero, but he decided to rush Wano and had Neko come in to take care of Pero quickly

There's always a way to nerf an opponent, if Oda could find a way for Nami to defeat Ulti by somehow making BM deal 99% of damage to Ulti and then Nami doing a finishing blow then there's definitely a way Carrot could beat him. Meanwhile Oda nerfed Carrot instead by turning off her sulong and gave the fight to Neko,whom Carrot was apparently supposed to replace as a leader lol. Idk, whole Carrot thing in Wano is just weird and bad.

If Carrot doesn't leave Zou, then it will be indeed a narrative mistake from Oda.

It was stupid af. I think Oda briefly considered having Carrot join the SH, but she wasn't a strong enough character physically or in personality, so stuck her as "Queen of the Minks" as a consolation prize. It was a jarringly stupid half assed decision tbh.
